the left is winning, but for the left, winning is indistinguishable from dying.
The West didn’t defeat Communism; it held it at bay long enough for it to defeat itself. The Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China crushed Communism more decisively than Goldwater could have ever dreamed of.
The embargo didn’t turn Cuba into a hellhole whose main tourism industry is inviting progressive Canadian pedophiles to rape its children. Castro did that with help from the dead guy on the red t-shirts.
“One of the greatest benefits of the revolution is that even our prostitutes are college graduates,” Castro told Oliver Stone. In real life, his prostitutes are lucky if they graduated from elementary school.
American admirers eager to get to Havana claim to be worried that Starbucks will ruin their Socialist paradise. What really worries them is that American businesses might give Cuban teens an economic alternative to sexually servicing decrepit leftists from Berkeley for $10 a night in the revolutionary version of Thailand where everyone is free, especially the political prisoners and raped children.
There’s no embargo to blame in Venezuela. Hugo Chavez destroyed his own Bolivarian revolution by implementing it. The Venezuelan economic collapse really took off while Obama was in the White House leafing through the tract Chavez had gifted him blaming America for all of Latin America’s troubles.
Now Chavez, the tract’s author and the Venezuelan economy are all dead.
Chavez’s successor has desperately tried to blame America for his crisis, but Uncle Sam had nothing to do with the lack of toilet paper in the stores, the milk rationing and the soldiers stationed outside electronics retailers. It’s just what happens when the left wins.
When the man in the White House wanted a Latin American revolution to succeed, it still failed.
The left is at its best when it’s trying to take power. It unleashes its egocentric creative impulses, it writes poems, plays and songs as its heroes die in doomed battles or pump their fists at protests. And then they win, get rich and fat, the people grow poor and the country becomes a miserable dictatorship. Try putting a 300 pound Che on a t-shirt. Or get inspired by Obama lazily playing golf.
A successful leftist revolution quickly becomes indistinguishable from an ordinary oligarchy. Millions may die, but decades later all that’s left is a vast pointless bureaucracy that runs on family connections, an ideology no one understands anymore and an impoverished population ripe for outside exploitation.
And then before you know it, Moscow is full of fast food joints, China uses slave labor to make iPhones and aging hippies can buy children in Cuba for the price of a Happy Meal.
The left rams through its ideology by force and when the ideology is gone, all that’s left is the force.
Now that the left has gotten its way in America, crushing its enemies, inflicting everything from socialized medicine to mandatory gay marriages on the masses, the excitement is gone. Even pro-criminal policies, the straw that once broke the left’s electoral back, have been accepted by Republicans.
What’s left except trying to sell Hillary Clinton as the exciting face of the future, a task that even the left seems to lack the stomach for. The excitement died once Obama took over. Suddenly those inspiring speeches no longer inspired. The speeches were the same teleprompter pabulum mixing bad poetry with worse diction, but there was no longer anything to push against except a frustrated Republican opposition in Congress. The left had won and victory was boring.
Obama took to golfing. He only seemed to come alive by campaigning so he campaigned all the time in an endless non-stop cultural revolution.
Imagine a future in which the left wins permanently. Just picture Hillary Clinton and then Elizabeth Warren and finally Bernie Sanders kept alive in the Oval Office by electricity and fetal stem cells from babies. Imagine the country run like the DMV. Imagine it divided between the politically connected and the poor. Imagine everyone else giving up and surviving on the black market. Imagine Social Justice becoming a slogan that everyone is forced to repeat, but that no one understands.
And then the Chinese will come along to take advantage of the cheap labor.
The left is like a suicide bomber or a honey bee, it can’t win. It can only kill and die. A successful leftist regime is a contradiction in terms. The hard revolutions blow up fast and then decay into prolonged misery. The soft electoral revolutions skip the explosions and cut right to the prolonged misery.
Europe went Full Socialist and gave up. Carter’s malaise has been a reality in Europe for generations. What was four years in America was forty years in Europe. The American left’s great ambitions – bureaucratic rule, international impotence, national health care, endless education, environmental correctness and childbirth, replaced by immigration – were realized in Europe. And they killed Europe.
Now they’re killing America.
What can the left achieve when it no longer has to worry about a conservative opposition, budgets, democracy or any other obstacle to its great dreams? Cities filled with old men and women who never had children. Cities filled with young men and women who will never marry, who are still working on their fourth degree without ever having held a job. Cities filled with multi-generational welfare recipients who are also the only ones having children. Cities owned by foreign nations from their historic buildings to their imported booming populations. That was the great accomplishment of a united Europe.
No children, no jobs and no future. No great works, no civilizational progress and no golden age.
What stakes are to a vampire, victory is to the left. The left gains its creative energies from fighting against authority. Its entire reason for existing is to resist. In triumph, its writers become prostitutes for authority, its heroes become tyrants and its myths die on propaganda posters dissolving in the gutter.
The left gains its ideological legitimacy from reform. But what happens when it becomes the entity in need of reform? Then reform dies and the word comes to be used as a euphemism for oppression. All the ideas die while the slogans march on like zombies. Radicals kill and then are killed. The men and women who used to fill the gulags, die in them instead. Lenin becomes Stalin becomes Khrushchev.
Before you know it, no one remembers why there was a revolution or how to get rid of it.
The American left survived its last round of victories by losing elections. It won while maintaining the appearance of defeat. Now it has both the appearance and the substance of victory. And there’s nothing left except making sure that every pizzeria caters gay weddings. Maddened social justice warriors lynch-tweet their own over trifles as the revolution’s children devour its elders in search of someone to fight.
The left has won and victory is killing it. It’s a slow miserable death for it, and for us.
If we win, then a defeated and revitalized left will go back to fulminating and ranting, plotting and scheming its way to a victory that will kill it. If its victory becomes permanent, a generation from now Cuban sex tourists with pesos will be visiting the Socialist enclaves of Berkeley or Boston for their child prostitution needs.

A Day In The Life
Up at 6:30am on Friday, I heard the garbage trucks coming thru the complex, on a cloudy, cool 53°F start to the weekend. My back Coffee, OJ, and Eggs Benedict w/ Ham Steak & Homefries for a late breakfast. I checked the news and weather, listened to the Chris Plante Show, WMAL-DC streaming from 9-10 and left to get some errands done and stop by Dad's to wish him a Happy 91st Birthday. On arrival, I noticed that 2 of 3 of the 3-4ft PJM Rhododendron we'd installed in September 2013, had died. I'll have to get replacements installed ASAP, since they're readily available now, in bloom and need to get established in-ground. Dad's had a basement 1" copper water pipe dripping (into the floor drain), and I got a plumber on it, scheduled for first thing
I slept-in until 7:45am on Saturday, had OJ and coffee, skipped breakfast in anticipation of Dad's Birthday Lunch, and went out to run some errands. 64°F, humid and cloudy to start, with a sunny
Up at 7am on Sunday, I still had back pain, so aspirin was in order with OJ and coffee. 63°F, sunny and cooler weather coming in with severe, t-stormy weather, later today. I noticed a very high CPU usage inside my computer, so I ran MalwareBytes Free immediately while scanning the weather and news sites. After 2:12 scanning the internal and external drives, nothing was found; duh. I made Soft-Boiled Eggs w/ Toast in a bowl, grabbed a shower and started the laundry routine. I usually listen to the Glen Meakem show on Sunday mornings, followed by a local financial advice show, none of which I take. While checking the weather, I saw the massive storms building and joining as they rolled thru the South, Southeast and up into Mid-Atlantic, headed for the
Sleeping-in until 8:30am on Monday, my back was painful and no aspirin was helping. Sunny and already 55°F. In between making OJ and coffee, I was using 1 of 2 coldpaks to freeze the area and drive out the pain, but as soon as the L-5 Vertebrae area warmed-up, the pain returned. (I just used pain twice, and painful once, in the same sentence. Heh.) I checked email, and it was working, scanned the weather and news sites. Dad had a plumber over to look at the 1945 copper pipes in the basement, and several needed replacing; pinhole leaks had appeared and it would get worse unless they were replaced. The plumbing company worked for my GC&N for 22 years on various well, irrigation and plumbing projects, so I knew the company to be reputable; they'd also done a lot of quality work for me here at the condo, too. So I decided to stay home and keep after the back with aspirin and coldpaks. I also needed to dig out 2 dead 3ft PJM rhodies and possibly a croaked 6-7ft Cherokee Chief Red Dogwood. That won't happen today. I skipped breakfast, and laid down on the LR couch with the icepaks, my cellphone and Kimber 1911 "Eclipse Target II" .45cal ACP. I listened to The Chris Plante Show on WMAL (DC), from 9-12, made an Egg & Olive Salad Sandwich and a bowl of Ham & Bean Soup; then fell asleep during Rush's show from 12-3. No loss. I was groggy when I woke, but at least
I again slept-in until 8 on Tuesday morning, had initial back pain, but it seemed to go away as I had more coffee and shifted sitting positions. And vitamins give you cancer; huh? OJ didn't help; some aspirin did and I skipped breakfast. Email was down again, so I checked the weather and news sites. Cloudy, 55°F, I left at 10am for Dad's to check the Dogwood and PJMs, and figure out what to do. It's Spring and stuff needs to get planted quickly so it roots in, and can survive thru the coming Winter.
The Red Dogwood is in bloom; the PJMs are still dead. I reset the drip irrigation timer, from Winter storage, moved the large, heavy terra cotta planting urns to the front and side porches, moved the teak benches outside and visited with him for a while. I left at 11:45 to get some errands done. I made a simple Ham & Swiss on Rye Sandwich for lunch, downloaded and replayed the morning's missed Chris Plante Show/ WMAL (DC) Podcast and listened until 6pm. After nodding-off for an hour of so afterward, I stood-up, and my back in pain. What seemed like seconds turned into minutes, while I hung onto the kitchen counter and tried to straighten-up my back. Damn. I finally did, ate some more aspirin and applied the cold-pak. The pain took my breath away and I had to sit down to get it back. Double-damn. By 8:30pm, the pain was minimal, but I kept the icepaks flowing until 10, shut down and went up to bed.
Up at 7:30am on Wednesday, I remembered the back pain, as I sat on the side of the bed, and took my time getting to my feet. Minimal and tolerable pain. Aspirin with OJ and coffee, no sudden movement and once my back was "warmed-up", I could function normally, or close to it. 61°F and cloudy. I checked the news and weather sites, found that email was working again and caught-up on the past several days of the errant service's messages, and tuned-in the live streaming Chris Plante Show/ WMAL (DC). Somehow, I didn't think I got all of my email vis my ISP/GMail, and dialed-up that site, passworded into my account, and found thousands in "Other" and "Misc" folders; now I have to go thru them to see if there are any important notes in there from Family or friends. Email just went down. While cleaning my eyeglasses' lenses, the micro-screw from a hinge dropped out and a lens fell onto the table. With one lens still functional, I spent 30mins searching the house, gunsafe, toolboxes, desk drawers for the "eyeglass repair kit", and finally found it. It was a bitch getting that miniscule screw into the hinge and lens reset into the frame, but I did it.
After a late breakfast of Scrapple, Homefries, Toast & Sunny-Side-Up Eggs, I had paperwork, filing and bills to get paid, with some classical music in the background. Many Talk Radio programs are giving me headaches, though I tune in for a few minutes to say hello to certain friends on conservative forums, and then tune out. By 1pm, a ***Special Weather Statement*** was posted on the local weather sites, for 40mph winds and rain? We got that, and then some, but it was hardly worth a ***Special Weather Statement*** to let Gas and diesel prices at the pump, are up 6¢, since Friday, April 17th: Unleaded Regular (87 oct) is now at $2.65/gal, Unleaded Premium (89oct) is at $2.75/gal, Premium (92 oct) is $2.95/gal, with Diesel Fuel/Kerosene K-2 has dropped 30¢ to $4.09/gal. people know that a simple storm was coming. We're getting too damned 'pussified'. By 5pm, I had the checks written for bills, much of the paperwork and filing done, and took some more aspirin and slapped on another coldpak, and decided to take a break. Rain was passing thru the area again, followed by 30s temps and possible snow. Tonight and tomorrow would be a much colder. So I crisped-up several Duck Leg Confit, under the broiler; they're pre-cooked and only 8-10mins turns the skin crispy and mouth-watering. I got up at 6:30am on Thursday, it was a cold 34°F and looked like it might snow outside, like it did elsewhere. I fired-up the furnace, grabbed my Turkish Bathrobe, made juice, coffee and Scrapple, Homefries, Eggs & Toast, and checked the news and weather. My day's list had 6 things to get done, all of which could be done on the round-trip from East York to Stewartstown and back. Leaving at 9:15am, I got all six done – haircut, Rxs picked-up, bank business, food shopping, hardware store, post office – and I can get over to Dad's tomorrow. Back home by 2:45pm, I unpacked, listened to the morning's missed Chris Plante Show/ WMAL (DC) Podcast, made a Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup, for a late lunch with aspirin and a coldpak. I called Dad to talk a while about a new strategy with the realty co, and he was agreeable. The ***FREEZE WARNING*** is still in place for tonite. By 7pm, I began watching past episodes of "American Pickers" and "Justified", which I either hadn't seen or didn't remember, relaxing my back with the alternating cold-paks, until 11:30, and quit for the night.
Friday starts a new week here in the "Journal", and if the back pain gets no worse, I'll count my blessings and get a few things done outdoors. No immediate app'ts on my 'list', yet. My email problem is causing me to think seriously about switching over to use my long-dormant Comcast account, and see if that's any more reliable than my long-standing "gdnctr.com" now suddenly has become. I also have to spend some time at GMail sorting thru thousands of notes from Family and Friends which mysteriously got dumped/appeared in two folders – "Other" and "Misc" – that I know nothing about. The occasional, part time job (software guru) has pretty much ended, now that I've got the inventory problems sorted out for the owners. Otherwise, I'm just going to enjoy Spring's arrival.

Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia are going through the worst Ebola outbreak in history and health officials believe that it has killed more than 700 people there. Now, for the first time, Ebola has "officially" entered the United Sates via two health aid workers, that contracted the disease while working in Africa, where the Ebola outbreak continues.
Ebola virus disease (EVD), originally known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a severe, and often times (70-90%) fatal disease in humans. Case fatality can be up to 90 percent – in other words, 90 out of every 100 people who catch Ebola die. EVD outbreaks typically occur in remote villages in Central and West Africa and are transmitted via wild animals (such as fruit bats) to humans.
The first patient landed in the United States on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Dr. Kent Brantly was then flown from Africa to the United States and then transported via ambulance to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The second person, Nancy Whitebol, will return to the U.S. in the coming days. Many people are questioning the decision to bring the two American aid workers to the United States to be treated. According to the New York Times, Dr. Bruce S. Ribner, an infectious disease specialist at Emory and who will be caring for these patients, said, "The reason we are bringing these

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it. That pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century. Kind of makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it. And last but not least...
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to all illegal aliens?

Obama: "Entrepreneurs Don't Build Businesses"
"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs. I'd gladly/happily volunteer, at no cost to any of my Hard-Working, Fellow US Taxpayers, to gladly/gleefully/happily headshoot these murderous, lowlife dirtbags of all stripes — their skin-color doesn't matter one whit to me, at all — and rid American Society's innocents — especially our too-vulnerable, precious children and the frail, defenseless elderly — of the subhuman criminals who prey upon them, once-and-for-ever. And yes, I'd rather see one innocent man convicted and executed, than 10 murderers, robbers, child rapists-murderers freed, to rob, rape and murder again. Hey, call me an "Old Fashioned Conservative"! Too harsh? Nah. Someone needs to take out the trash! I volunteer.
Society's innocents — our precious, defenseless children and the frail, defenseless elderly — must be protected from predators, murderers, rapists, robbers and other subhuman filth, at all times and at any cost, IMO.
The 6th Commandment actually says: "Thou Shalt Not Murder". It does NOT say, "Thou Shalt Not Kill." I personally don't consider any summary-execution — except by subhuman, murderous muslim/islamic pigshit — as murder, in any way, shape or form. It's "Due-Justice-For-Crimes-On-This-Earth", IMO.

Yes, I agree with the premise of this article, that "the death penalty is a Noahic Covenant with God, in a post-flood world", and America should apply it every-damned-day, to those deserving death for their crimes against society and its innocents.
