i now know what radio & TV commentator Glenn Beck was talking about when he often said that "the world's in for a sea-change, like we've never seen before in our lifetime, Get ready for it; it's coming". It was this ugly and horrible phenomenon, destined to change the world for the worse. This is just the tip of the so-called iceberg.

When, not if Egypt falls, and all the other Arab states — Yemen, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Algeria, Bahrain, Turkey, Oman, Libya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Chad, Kenya, Pakistan, Congo, Tanzania, Zambia, Angola, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Madagascar, South Africa, Sudan, Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and several others — fall to The muslim Brotherhood's influence and control, and islamic-socialism takes control, God help us all. And it's going to spread slowly at first, but then as more governments and countries fall like dominoes, it will happen very rapidly. When I hear of mandatory arabic classes coming to our schools, and our lying asshole of a racist, hate-America, Kenyan-born "president" (I didn't vote for the half-breed, incompetent, fascist, communist, lowlife sambo!) shielding murderous muslims from any legal scrutiny, I shudder to think of the *war* which IS coming, all too soon: dead Americans, Europeans, muslims, criminals and marauding gangs' bodies piled hundreds of feet high, on fire, to prevent death from spreading plaque disease. Blood running 4-6" deep in the streets. The US Dollar has fallen, and is worthless. Gold & Silver is nearly worthless. Guns & ammo rule the day and preserve our American Way of Life.

If you don't have the right guns and plenty of ammo, and a year's-plus worth of canned food and fresh water well-secured, you and your family are truly goners. You could purchase those life-saving items from Food Insurance Co, and be sure of both food and water. Around The Garden Center

I arrived at the GC&N Complex after my doctor's appointment in East York, around 12:45pm, only to find that when the power went off, the 420ft deep well shut down, the holding tanks emptied and the water pipes froze. Arthur was already there, trying to scrape-up frozen slush and ice on the roads and parking lot with the John Deere 317 SkidLoader, but since the temp was only 27°F, he wasn't having much luck. He'd tried again on Friday when temps would climb into the mid-30s, and had better luck: the roads and parking lot are now clear. I have 2 x 500w heat lamps and a variable baseboard heater in the Pump House, to keep that machinery from freezing on the northwest corner of the Main Building, as well as leaving the water run slowly in my Office bathroom sink. It had all stopped. I put a small space heater on the inside pipes in he bathroom, made sure all breakers were reset and certain other switches in the Pump House were also reset. Within 3hrs, we had running water again, with no burst pipes. Mirabile dictu!

The Rt 24 mailbox was overflowing with 5 USPS boxes (PNC Bank) and lots of mail on Friday, so I gathered them all up and filled-up the back cargo space of my Jeep, returned phone calls on the answering machine tape, and set an appointment for next week with our new bank, PNC, and another with my media rep from The "York Daily Record", to reserve ad banner space for the April 30th Open House. The other 3 newspaper publications' space reservations were completed last week. Better too early than too late. Now, I have to write the ads, and the 6" x 9" postcard invitation copy — let Nefra's Graphics Department propose the graphics and approve them— which will get mailed the first week of April as a reminder to our known 10,000 mailing list customers. This'll take 1-2 weeks to finish-up and get ready for mailing in early April.

Oh crap, another ice & snowstorm hitting us from Friday rush-hour through Saturday afternoon. Just what we need.

By Monday morning at 8am, after a fairly good night's sleep, I was at the Garden Center Complex, collecting garbage bags from the 3 full Main Bldg office, front counter & bathroom trash cans, and putting-in new plastic bags, replacing burnt-out light bulbs, working with the LPG heaters, checking the water pipes, sorting 4 days of voluminous mail and working on final arrangements for the 21st Open House, writing copy for 3 newspaper ads and a 4/c 6" x 9" postcard reminder to 10,000 of our customers on our Corporate Mailing List. No local radio ad flights and no "Baltimore Sun" 4/c insert to certain zip codes, this time around; just too expensive for the demographic markets, IMO. Dad showed-up around 11:30am and I made him and I a huge bowl of my 2-Alarm Chili leftovers, with still plenty in reserve. The refrigerator is bare and will soon be time to restock it for Spring-Summer-Fall usage. We got all our work done by 2:15pm and left.

I had an 8pm meting to attend, and after 2hrs of walking laps at the upper & lower mezzanines at The Galleria Mall, was exhausted and went home to eat and rest. I slept right through my 8pm meeting, so I took a Lunesta® 1mg, just to see how it worked in comparison to the Ambien CR® 2m, and I fell right asleep. Except for getting-up 3x during the night to get a sip of water, I had a peaceful, non-bad-dream, non-eventful, good night's sleep, unlike Ambien CR®. I think I'll stick with Lunesta®, if I can get my Dr to renew the Rx.

Saturday morning was all freezing rain at 31-32°F, and I needed to go to Border's, just down the street, but dared not to try to drive on the slick side roads, until the temps rose above 34°F. The rain was freezing on the plants and buildings, my driveway and the untreated street in front of my condo. I opted to wait until 1-2pm when temps had risen. I made breakfast, fed and watered Murphy, and waiting for temps to rise so I could go outside, safely. It began raining hard and temps briefly rose into the mid-50s, enough to melt the side street ice, so I went out and did several walking laps around the long mezzanine floors (3 miles) of the nearby Galleria Mall, for some good exercise. I took a Lunesta® 1mg at 8pm, and went to sleep.

I woke refreshed at 8am, made breakfast, looked at some disturbing news footage from the Middle East, got dressed and went down to the office to look for some IRA investment, end-of-year paperwork interest profit, which Dad needed for my income taxes, for the CPA. I skipped my usual "walk around both floors of The Galleria", in favor of some of the needed paperwork. The rest hasn't arrived from Fulton Bank; I'll deal with that on Monday.

Yes, I watched the 45th (XLV) Super Bowl on FOX (Comcast's Channel 5) last evening, in between episodes on DVD copies of "Justified" & "The Hit Man", both starring my favorite actor, Timothy Olyphant, who picked the Packers, BTW. The 1st Half was almost a rout: Packers 21- Steelers 10, with the Steelers scoring a TD in the last 5 minutes to try to make it a game before halftime. By early 3rd Qtr, it was Packers 21 - Steelers 17. By the 4th Qtr, the Packers scored on 3 Steelers' turnovers, and went-up 28-17, with >12mins left in the game. The Steelers scored with 11:34 left in the 4th Qtr, and they went for 2pts and got it, making it Packers 28 - Steelers 25. Packers kicked a field goal, making the score 31-25, with 2:07 left in the game, forcing the Steelers to make a TD, and nothing less. Packers "took a knee", ran out the clock and won it, 31-25. I was asleep by 10:30pm.

After stopping at my bank and getting a printout of the savings account paperwork interest amount needed by my corporate-personal CPA, I went to the GC&N Center to finalize the 3 ads and postcard copy for the 21st Open House, although I won't be producing it for another couple of weeks. I emptied trash cans, swept floors, cleaned the sink and toilet, fed the birds — boss stuff — until Dad arrived and he got his work done. My office's phone built-in answering function had stopped working, so I stopped at Radio Shack to get some new MC-60 cassette tapes to replace the 15yr old MC-30 tapes the machine has been using, hoping that'll fix it. If it doesn't, a new digital phone is in my near future. I hear that "they're a bitch to program", but we'll see. Lee stopped by and I loaned him the DVD with the 13 First Season Episodes of "Justified" on it. I closed around 1pm and went home for the day.

I spent a couple of hours copying folders & their data files from my condo's external 2Tb Western Digital HD to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-570t series unit, as back-up, just in case, as I've done in the Office with the Western Digital 1Tb HD, in the same HP Pavilion Elite HPE-570t series unit. Both have Samsung 24" Wide LCD screens. I have a fairly large food shopping list, but decided not to go on Monday. We also have sleet/snow coming at least once this week, so I'll have to play it by the weather and see what happens. I'll have some additional things to add in the next few days, so I'll probably wait until Friday or Sunday to shop. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday morning, work to do at the GC&N Complex during the day and an 8pm meeting on Friday, so most likely it'll be a Sunday trip.

After 3 Jeeps in a row — a black & gold (6-cyl) 1977 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD (275,000 miles), a forest green 1994 (V8) Grand Cherokee LTD (276,000 miles) and now a 2002 silver (6-cyl) Grand Cherokee 'Laredo' (134,600 miles) — I was seriously considering a Toyota Land Cruiser (V8) or Toyota Sequoia (V8) as my next SUV. V8s? I need a 6-cyl to conserve gas, if prices get near the $4/gal and $5/gal levels, as I think they will over the Summer months. But after reading this article, I've changed my mind. I won't buy another Chrysler product or GM product, because of the gov't bailouts, so I'll have to look elsewhere. Ford, perhaps? Who knows. I'll keep the current Jeep for another year or so, until I figure it out.

The answering machine portion of my 17 year old Office phone went south last Friday, and we're without any message-leaving capabilities now. I tried new MC-30 & MC-60 cassettes, and neither worked. I returned them to Radio Shack on Tuesday. It's just a phone now with speakerphone capability, but no message-taking ability, which is crucial to my business. I headed to Radio Shack and Staples to look for and buy a "simple replacement". No such things, I found. I bought this phone at Staples, with the hopes that *me* programming it wouldn't "be a bitch", as many have told me that digital phone are v-e-r-y difficult to program. We'll soon see, as it's to arrive at Staples on Wednesday, where I'll pick it up wo/ shipping charges. I was asleep by 8:30pm.

Gas prices at the pump edged-up another 4-5¢ this week, after briefly dropping 2-3¢ last week. Unleaded Regular (87 oct) was at $3.17/gal, Unleaded Premium (89oct) was at $3.27/gal, Premium (92 oct) was at $3.47/gal and Diesel climbed to $3.56/gal, in the York (PA) area, at many of the larger gas stations. The smaller stations in the surrounding countryside were a few cents higher in price, in every category.

It was a bitter 10°F/ Wind Chill 3°F on Wednesday morning, when I got up at 5:30am, and finally went into work at 8:15am. I had several stops to make on the way in to pick-up a three Rxs and drop-off some shirts at the cleaners. Staples called and said my new phone delivery to their East York store, would be delayed until the 10th or 11th. Crap. I've contracted my cleaning lady and her husband to come into the GC&N Complex during the 1st week of March, and vacuum and wet-mop all floors, clean the office bathroom "within an inch of its life", and wipe-down all front counters as well as my office desk and tables. There are lots of "dust bunnies" rolling around the floors. LOL! It sure needs it after sitting empty all Winter, in preparation for the 21st Open House, on Saturday, April 30th. Yeah sure, I could do all that, but they could use the work and the money, since their business has slumped-off over the Winter months. I've had them both as my "condo cleaning team" for 15+ years now, for $55/ week. A real bargain, IMO.

Not only has my fan and interior light quit, and the door handle on my 21-year old GE Microwave broken-off, my 21-year old GE Dishwasher isn't working properly, anymore. The little round door where you squirt-in the detergent won't open on-electronic cue, so it isn't *cleaning* the dishes and glasses, just merely "rinsing them" in 130°F water, without doing the necessary cleaning. I have to re-wash by hand everything which comes out, in the sink, to get them really clean and useable. 21 years is a long time for appliances to last, especially as hard as I've used them. So I'm at Sears Appliances/Dishwashers online, checking out scores of various brand replacements ($249.99 to $1,020.99) to purchase. Installation is extra, I'm sure. Maybe I can get a "deal" if I get the GE microwave and dishwasher replaced at the same time? Doesn't hurt to ask Sears

After umpteen calls to companies who advertise that they repair special horizontal fabric blinds, in my 4-Seasons Sunroom on the back of the condo, I got two of five to agree to come out and have a look: one on Friday 2/11 and one on Monday 2/14. I still have 3-4 more to call if those two can't get the repairs done. The one in Stewartstown is a Garden Center customer of mine! Who'd a thunk it?

Linda, Lee & I went down to Graul's in Maryland on Thursday, to do some food shopping and had some fun. I had all my work done at the Office, so Dad and Kim worked the day on inputting the new incoming inventory into CounterPoint and next, into GardenWare. I picked-up my new RCA Digital Phone at Staples, on the way home, and Friday will be a true test of how dumb I really am, if I can't program the built-in digital answering machine, as well as set it up correctly.

The “Virtual Cabin” – A Novella

After my 8pm meeting on Friday, I'd planned on packing my gear and AR-10, and going to The Cabin for the weekend, since I had nothing to do around the condo. The forecast was for clear, very cold temps and brisk winds, but no precipitation. I could weather that easily. In the mountains, it's a whole different story, however. It's always different in the mountains. Since Adam's Junction isn't on any map, it'd be impossible to get any forecast for that "virtual town".

I was packed-up Thursday night, to leave for Adam's Junction after my meeting on Friday evening, cleaned my AR-10 .308cal (7.62 x 51mm NATO), with the Leupold Gold Dot Mark 4 CQ/T Scope on my condo's dining room table (on some newspaper), loaded 15 x 20-round extra magazines and took a "battle pack" (200 rounds of 7.62 x 51mm .308 cal) ammo along, just for good measure. I also cleaned my Kimber 1911 "Eclipse Target II" .45cal ACP, and loaded 8 x 8-round extra magazines, plus took a US Army ammo can of 50 boxes of 20 rounds each. I was ready to go right then. Damned meeting would hold things up until around 9:30-10:00pm, or so.

I decided to stay home for the weekend.

These criminals had been incarcerated in facilities in Texas and California and were released back into US society. A criminal alien eligible for removal is a person who is in the United States illegally and is subsequently convicted of a crime or was a legal permanent residents convicted of a removable offense, such as murder and other felonies.
