"as I had last Friday's Independence Day off, I thought long and hard once again, about what it meant to be an "American".

Reality defeats idealism, everytime. Ideology is a fungible commodity, like oil, and many things, which are no longer held-deeper in a person's core. Do we deserve what we voted for, as a Nation? Usually, we do get what we wish/support/deserve; occasionally, we don't, and more often than not, we get what we dserve, as an uninformed, idiotic, absurd Electorate.

The liberals' tenacles are far-reaching, and pervasive, as we've seen over the past 50-60 years. Everything from the local-level "dog catcher" to the SCOTUS, has been impacted, perverted and changed by them. Quietly, over the past 30-50 years, liberal garbage/trash has infiltrated the political structure on so many levels, and polluted the daily structure of governance to the point of it needing to be completely thrown-out and rebuilt, from the foundation upward. It takes a clear, uncompromised Conservative Eye, such as mine, to see it, but their visible (to me and others with acute Conservative Vision) traces of filth, degeneracy and socialism is there, clearly and definitely.

Their largely-unnoticed 'baby-steps' of socialism/marxism/leninism/communism are there and are being used daily, quite unbeknownst to most of the local, ignorant electorate. The schools have been nationalized/socialized. Yet, I and other Conservatives see it, all the time. They are running under the banner of 'moderate', 'pro-local-governance', 'eco-green-friends', and a host of other lies; in reality/truth, they're your worst nightmare — socialists — once ensconed in the local political hierarchy. It will take an "Act of God" to get those saboteurs and socialist scum out of their gov't jobs, without their whining, moaning, bitching, and endless lawsuits/injunctions, and bullshit claims of racism, anti-sodomy, anti-hegemony, anti-this and anti-that crappola, raising great clouds of bullshit, and signifying nothing. But the shit-for-brains, liberal activist courts will eat-it-up, and entertain their endless, useless, Taxpayer-money-wasting legal motions for months, if not years. And, on and on it goes, if not permanently 'checked'.

Fact: leftist socialism is left-wing socialism, whether it was Russian or Nazi, or is now the American liberal-demokkkRATs. And the liberal-demokkkRATs are left-wing socialists, pure, plain and simple. They are The Enemy Within™.

The only real way to 'dislodge' liberals, aka socialists, from any political office, anywhere, is to identify, find and kill them. End of problem, IMO. Anything les isn't an effective medical 'cure' for the cancerous tumor of liberalism and socialism. Personally, I like that idea, bigtime. Shooting and killing a disease-spreading verminous RAT, is the RIGHT WAY to "solve the problem". Simply, "Shoot, shovel & shut-up."

Sure, I'm all for giving the US Legal (nay 'Justice') System a full-and-fair try, but when that fails miserable, as it always does, it's time to 'root-out' the traitors, the subversives, the seditionists, the saboteurs, and destroy them and their breeding families, whole-cloth. Find them and kill them.

We are in the throes of completing the full 200-yr cycle, from slavery to independence and back to slavery: from bondage to spiritual faith — from spiritual faith to great courage — from courage to liberty — from liberty to abundance — from abundance to selfishness — from selfishness to complacency — from complacency to apathy — from apathy to dependence — from dependence back again to bondage. Most of these steps happen gradually, like the proverbial frog in a boiling pot of water. Gradualism vs a violent change?

Sadly, what we are witnessing is the decline and fall of The American Empire. The sun sets on every empire established by man, and ours will be no exception. One of the most popular books of all time is "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire", written in 1788 by Edward Gibbon. The book set forth five basic reasons why great civilizations wither and die, at around 200 years of existence: •The undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home, which is the basis for human society • Higher and higher taxes and the spending of public money for free bread and circuses for the populace • The mad craze for pleasure — sports becoming every year more exciting, more brutal, more immoral • The building of great armaments when the real enemy is within — the decay of individual responsibility • The decay of religion — with faith fading into mere form, losing touch with life, losing power to guide people.

Make no mistake about it, America: at a mere 226 years old, we're sliding into the predicted, dark abyss, brought-on and gleefully-nourished by the liberal-demokkkRATs, cowardly, gutless and spineless GOP-RINOs, and a whole host of other internal filth, aptly-termed, The Enemy Within™. There is no more light at the end of the tunnel; in fact, it's a train coming the other way.

I enjoyed the-living-heck-out-of-having-last-Friday, off. I got-up and fed the cats at 5am, then slept-in until almost 12, did some minor food (mostly Chinese & condiments, papergoods etc) shopping and went down to the GC&N Complex, intending to do the set-up of my new 24" Samsung WS Monitor. But, I measured it. Yes, it's true: 1-2" too big for my current computer cart, and I was disappointed in my not checking that possibility, more thoroughly before I'd ordered it, and now with having to go to Anthro's Product Listings, to find another computer desk/cart to house the new unit. Darnit. So, I didn't do the final set-up/install, since I'll be needing a much larger "piece of real estate", for it to live on, in my Office. So I checked the GHs to see if anything needed watering, headed back to my condo.

On the way home, I noticed many hundreds of cars, all speedily-heading "somewhere", in a great huff. BBQs, picnics, family get-togethers, company picnics, yard sales/ flea markets... whatever the reason. The local (East York) WEIS Market was crowded, even at 2pm, as the crowds of "July 4th laggards", went through the aisles and cleaned-out the hamburger/hotdog/steak meat displays, HB-HD buns, bread, potato salad, condiments, chips, soft drinks etc. I barely got out of there with my life, intact. After getting home, D**** called, and had a great CSS-Session, who called just 20mins after I'd settled-in, and we worked on some of the same HTML/CSS stuff for the upcoming, super-secret, "New Journal Debut" - *The CARMEN™ Project*; debut date, TBD.

With the (lib-dem/DBM-encouraged, anti-GOP, in an election year) US Economy in the faux-doldrums, $4+/gal gas prices and bad news (DBM-encouraged, anti-GOP, in an election year) dominating our daily lives, the many local (York, PA) municipalities have scheduled an "Old Fashioned July 4th Fireworks Display", despite the increased costs of the displays, for their financially-stressed-out, residents. Amazingly enough, I didn't hear or see any early displays, which I usually do, on July 4th evenings. The booms/bangs are pretty loud, and the visuals quite obvious out of my condo's 2nd floor windows. By 11:30pm, I'd begun hearing and seeing the familiar diplays. The passing t-storms and rain, might have played a role in that unusual 'silence', and delayed noise.

The roads were empty, on the way into work at 7am, Saturday. I stopped for coffee, a breakfast sandwich and Marlboros. My long-dormant "Sciatica" flared-up, and I could hardly walk, on Friday Eve, and Saturday, without the damned cold-paks. I was "paying the price" for not getting another epidural shot. Muggy, cloudy, rainy, low-70s, t-storms, and a very light retail traffic flow on this July 4th Holiday Weekend, made for a boring day. I got 5 completed lscp jobs, billed-out, and a new lscp site visit on Saturday, estimated. We had numerous "shoppers", but few "buyers". Violent t-storms headed towards us, but veered south, just giving us light rain. I relished the idea of having 2 days, which I could sleep-in late — Friday & Sunday — in "close proximinity", for a change. And I did, with a vengenance. My L5's Sciatica Pain put me down on the couch, for 2+ days.

At 9:18am on Sunday morning, I got a call from Choice Security, informing me that "retail window #2" had been breached. Coming out of a dead-to-the-world sleep, it took about 20secs to register, and I was quickly dressed and on my way down to the GC&N Complex. I went in the back field, had my Kimber "Eclipse Target II" 1911 .45cal ACP drawn as I checked the building's and GHs' perimeters, and insides. After finding nothing, I opened some doors, sat down at my desk and ate a Jello Pudding Cup. Around the corner came a PA State Trooper with his Glock .40cal drawn; hands-up, I identified myself, and provided ID. He and I then checked the 4 retail bldg windows, which are wired into the alarm system, since the last robbery on April 13th along with numerous other sensors and alarms. Back to the condo. Well, that ruined my sleep-in day, so I'll call it an early night, I think.

I needed to get out and run some errands, Sunday afternoon, but my right shin/calf/foot were so painful, all I could do was lay down and put a cold-pak on my lower back. I called the Pain Center at HeathSouth, in York (PA), to get an appointment for an epidural, but "since it's the July 4th Holiday Weekend, all personnel are away, and only messages for Monday morning return call, are being taken". Damn.

Besides being Monday, it was truly a lousy day, ands went right to a crappy/shitty/day, wiuthin hours. My right leg/foot's Sciatica was excruciating, and every bit as bad as I remember when it happened back in '04. All I could do is hobble around, and try to stay-off it as much as possible. After much calling and holding, I finally got an appointment for *July 17th* at the highly-regarded and very selective, OSS Facility, in York. I'm having my previous Dr's epidural records transferred to them, later this week. I just hope I can manage the pain, until the 17th. I finished-up the new Workshops page, which begins mid-August, and runs through October. Then, after visiting 2 jobsites this morning, my '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee 'Laredo' took an electrical dump. It was scheduled to go in Wednesday for the 101k service and state inspection, but this forced my hand. A flatbed took it to the local Jeep dealer. Their rental, an '08 Jeep Liberty, was a pile of crap, IMO. Just awful to drive, as compared to my Grand Cherokee. I was finally glad to get home, that evening, and call it a "damned day". IMO!

I went to sleep early — 9pm, for me — woke-up in major pain around 10pm, called Alan, my LSCP Foreman, and left a message on his company cellphone to let him know that I wouldn't be in at 6am, as usual, to open the place-up, and that he'd have to do it, unil I got the epidural shot. I was in too much pain, right now. I could hardly walk, as it was. I did the same on my Office phone's answering nachine, just to be redundant, and no one would miss the message.

The pain was excruciating at 6am, on Tuesday morning, and all I could do was take 10 aspirin, crawl back into bed, and sleep until 9am. It was absolute hell even trying to walk, let alone get down the condo stairs, one step at a time, on my butt. I finally made it into work around 10:30am on Tuesday, and began calling OSS to find out if they had any cancellations. I requested an "emergency appopintment", and they noted it. They called back within 1hr, on Wednesday with a 2:50pm app't, and I grabbed it. I just couldn't stand the awful pain, any longer. My 3-ton dumptruck crapped-out today, with a blown gasket on the waterpump, and my 5-ton dumptruck stopped running, as the original '04 battery 'went south'. My LSCP Foreman quickly-fixed that problem with a new battery, but we're now down to one dumptruck, until the 3-ton dump is repaired. Did I mention that my Jeep also took an "electrical dump", yesterday, two days before it was scheduled for the 101k service? "Everything happens in threes/fours/fives." Or whatever.

I made some butternut squash ravioli — from scratch, on Tuesday evening — something I haven't done for the past 5-6 months, with a browned-butter sage sauce, Julienned veggies, garlic, onion, fresh-ground sea salt & black pepper, and served with 9-grain buttered toast ponts. Mmmmm. Nice stuff to go sleep on, IMO. No wonder I'm putting-on weight, these days. Gotta stop eating in the evenings, after 6pm.

I had a 2:50pm app't at OSS, to get an epidural shot — or so I thought — on Wednesday, and dutifully went there to fill-out forms, wait, more forms, wait, go thru interviews, wait, more forms, wait, go thru an exam, wait, more forms, wait, wait, wait, wait, check-out and a $30 copay fee... but no epidural shot? The epidural's scheduled for Wed, July 16th at 9am. Only 7 more days of this agony and pain. I'm on their 'cancellation list", for an earlier app't should someone else opt-out. (((SIGH))). At this point in pain, I'll take *whatever relief I can get*, darnit!

Soooooo, I'm now on the all-day, ice-pak regimen: 20mins on; 40mins off. 8-10-12hrs/day. It helps for a brief time, BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME. Alas, too short a time. I took Thursday off, and just stayed home and slept. Aspirin and water are my friends. My r/foot is 1¼x swollen from the sciatic nerve pain. And my nerves are frayed, too. Headaches 24x7, making my face scrunch-up. Neckaches, doing the same thing. This is not fun. No, I'm not ready to "eat a .45cal", but I need some pain relief, *soon*. The local Jeep dealer called, with more "good news": 100k service, new front rotors, repairs to electrical and transmission, labor, rental etc; looks like I'm getting nailed for around $1,900+ for this service & repair session. Swell; just swell. (((sigh)))

Many Journal entries are best viewed in the Century Gothic and the Orlando typefaces. You already probably have Century Gothic on your Windows-XP machine, and that's occasionally used for the body copy or subheads. They're free from my website. Grab 'em! Save them to your HD, and install to C:/Windows/Fonts folder, thru your WIN XP Control Panel > Fonts > File > Install New Font. Simple.

Here are a few others, which my Journal will be written in during the coming weeks: Papyrus and Acoustic Bass . Get and install them, and see how much nicer these pages are to view and read. Plus, they add to your repertoire of available fonts in MS-Word, as WIN-XP System Fonts, so you can use them for your daily documents etc.
