Are those cowardly, lying, spineless, gutless, ball-less, yellow-streaked idiots and morons, in the US Congress, the only reasons why we don't do what we need to do, to prevent The Destruction of America From Within, and prosecute the actual crimes, of the lowlife, 535 crooked, corrupt, criminal vermin US Congressional Legislators. 97% need "severe legal action", IMO. To wit: $11-22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year. $2.2 billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. $2.5 billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens. $12 billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they still can't speak a word of English. $17 billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies. $3 million a day is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. Over 35% of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens. $90 billion a year is spent on illegal aliens for welfare & social services by American Taxpayers. $200 billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of White, non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children are going to make a huge additional crime problem, here in the US. During 2005, there were 4 to 10 million illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal alien filth from terrorist-sponsoring, turd-world shitholes. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine and marijuana, crossed into the US, from the southern border. In 2006, illegal aliens sent home $45 billion in remittances back to their countries of origin. Last Friday morning, I used my new Chemex® Coffeemaker to make coffee, at 6:15am, and it was *damned-great*, compared to the 20-yr old Gevalia® electric coffeemaker I've been using here, for the past 18yrs. I had a Chemex®, back when I lived in NJ, but it cracked after 16yrs, and I didn't bother to replace it. What a mistake. This morning's coffee was the absolute best I've had in a very, very long time, IMO. I'd like to "linger and sip" my Chemex® Coffee, 24x7x365, well into the mid-morning hours, but I can't. Off to work.
My CATV-Net access woes ended Thursday evening, when I discovered the obvious 'Internet' switch on the CM box, has accidentally been pushed by my cleaning lady, earlier that day when she was dusting-off the computer equipment, and I rebooted both the CM and router, and I was back in business. Spending Wednesday evening wo/ CATV and CM-Net access, made me realize just how much I rely upon them, and miss them when they're not available. It reminded me of the 70s and 80s. I called ComCast, and cancelled the Saturday Tech Service app't. Scary, isn't it, how dependent we've become on technology? It's my feeling, that "Everyone in America", should go through a 1-day/week 'CATV-Net-Access-Deprivation' period, in their yearly lives. It puts "things" into true perspective, IMO.
Yikes, it was "yard sale weekend" in several of the small towns I pass through, on my way into and back from work, and the lawns, driveways and garages were packed with "stuff", aka junk, for sale. No, I don't buy "OPJ" — other peoples' junk — for any reason. I still marvel, after 18yrs, at all the 'folks' who just live for those events. Ha.
A very, very good, long-time Friend's Father, passed last Friday morning, and is now in a far, far better place that we mere mortals are. RIP, Mike. You are sorely-missed, by your Beloved Daughter, and by those of us who knew you, through her.
Father's Day Weekend on Saturday (did I mention that we're now closed on Sundays?) was moderately-busy. I slept-in until noon on Sunday, made a leisurely Eggs Bendict/ Chemex Coffee breakfast, and then went to Mom & Dad's for Sunday Brunch — take-out from a nearby Ruby Tuesday's Restaurant $50 gift certificate I'd gotten as a Christmas gift — from one of my subcontractors: Jumbo Lump Crabcakes, and Gourmet Chicken Pot-Pie. Big mistake! It was freaking awful! Worst so-called "food" I've eaten in the last 10yrs; absolute crap/garbage/trash/shit! My advice: don't go to Ruby Tuesday's, even at gunpoint! Temps got up to 89°F, on Sunday, and it was humid, sticky and uncomfortable. Worse is yet ahead, this week. Yuk; Summer is here.
Yes, I do consider all pets as Gifts From God, and have enjoyed their company, learned from them, and treasure the short time I've had with each, especially Pickle. I also remember and treasure my many cats and dogs: Tiger, Rags, Sandy, Caesar, Groid, Puff, Dusty, Casian, Miriam. I'd bet that each of you had the same experience, with one or more, and could vouch for the same heart-wrenching experiences. Yes?
When some of the many thousands of visitors to JSGC&N come long distances, to shop and buy, not only do they stay a day or two, in local motels/hotels, they all also ask for "good places to eat", and to that end, I've developed a multi-tier list of "Great Restaurants & Good Eateries", in the York (PA) area, listed on the Visitors Page, of my corporate website. It's an evolving webpage, BTW, as I get input from friends and customers. If you've eaten at any of those listed establishments, and have a review/opinion for me, please email me, with it, and I'll consider it for the ratings.
Atypical June temps were muggy, sticky, sweltering, hot and hit 91°F on Monday, 93°F on Tuesday and huge multiple-lines of thunderstorms rolling through the York (PA) area, around 6pm. 50-70mph winds, horizontal rain, trees and tree limbs coming down, 1 ft+ water flowing in the streets, gutters overflowing, cable modem and CATV zapped, net access gone/ then back on/ then gone/ then back, massive thunder rattling my condo, my two condo cats running upstairs for cover under the bed, lightening bolts hitting nearby forests, and unbelieveable monsoon conditions. It lasted about 15mins, but the flowing water in the streets was awesome, and overflowed the curbs onto the lawns. Woooo-hoooo! The second wave of thunderstorms hit around 10:45pm, as I was taking a shower, and the lights went out, CATV and CM went out, and the lightening and thunder was real close, and deafening. The CATV and CM went out, and I packed-it-in, and went to bed. With only one of four lights blinking on the CM, I knew we'd had a direct hit somewhere on the ComCast system. It was back to normal, on Wednesday morning.
Wednesday's temps were in the mid-70s, and quite comfortable. I didn't need the office AC unit and got caught-up on 5-6 LSCP Estimates and some Customer LSCP Billing, so I was happy. D&R Nurseries, one of our new Left Coast nursery stock brokers, was in on Thursday morning, and as I had an early Dr's app't rescheduled to next week, I made the meeting. I had a mid-afternoon app't with a Dermatology Group, In York (PA), for my just-emerged alopecia, on my legendary, 39-yr moustache. In my 57yrs, I've never had an allergy, skin problem or anything like that. It's just happened with the past 1-2mos, IIRC.
Happy 1st Day of Summer (Thursday 2:06pm EST), the longest day of the year. Everything is downhill, from here, toward the Winter Solstice, and the shortest day of the year. No, I'm not a pagan.
