Now don't get me wrong, I'm 100% for tracking down terrorists, worldwide, and Killing every last one of them. But why aren't we doing that here at home? There are thousands of subhuman extremist Islamics and violent Arabs lurking in America, who would do us grave harm. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of terrorist 'sleeper cells' have been here for years, and more pour in through our largely-unguarded and porous Mexican and Canadian borders. I'd prefer to read about terrorist body counts, domestically, than what the morons in The US Senate aren't doing, which I read about every day. I also don't give a flying rat's ass rearend about the 9 socialist, left-wing wacko commie clowns in the demoRAT party, who think they've got a snowball's chance in hell, to ever get elected. And I'm really sick of The White House and the US CongressCritters giving 'child tax credits' to families who don't even pay taxes. Call it what it is, dammit: another welfare entitlement, and the largest in 40 years. The US Military is way past due for a pay raise, but instead, we're spending $400 billion on child tax credit welfare programs for inner city filth — who don't even pay taxes — spewing forth illegitimate, half-breed crack babies, and taking no responsibility for their negative actions. The treasonous left-wing liberals and democRATs are to blame for this and a host of other spending overruns — Kennedy's education spending bill, farm subsidies bill and now the child tax credit bill for those who don't pay taxes — and President Bush is allowing it, even encouraging it, to happen. Ostensibly, he's doing it to "take those specific social and fiscal issues away from libs and dems", for the '04 election. What he's actually doing is furthering their socialist, bloated government agenda. At our expense, literally. Does that sit well with you? Doesn't with me.

3.5" in two days. It rained all last Friday and Saturday — the first day of Summer — which put us over 6" ahead in the yearly rainfall totals. For the past 14 weekends, it's rained; and the past 71 of 90 days. Sunday was nice, and temps climbed up into the mid-90s for the rest of the week. Yuk; hot, sticky and nasty. Still, no complaints about the moisture.
The Atkins Diet is still working, albeit more slowly than I'd like. Perhaps it's time to rethink my regimen of screwdrivers or bloody marys in the evenings, with a low-sugar/carb drink mix. Any suggestions? Maybe cranberry juice? Yuk; too healthy. Yikes! I just got the results of some lab bloodwork back; everything's normal except my chloresterol, which went from 212 (4/2000) to 248 (6/2003). I'm going back in a week or so, to have a "Lipid Panel" done, whatever the heck that is.
I'm still looking around for some day trips to do when Cheryl's here on her visit, with me from July 2-13. The dance card is filling up, quickly.

Ahhhhh, Spring fresh fruit is all over the place: black and red raspberries (now, local), navel oranges, plums (soon, local), nectarines, apples (soon, local), peaches (soon, local), strawberries (now, local), canteloupes (soon, local), honeydew melons (soon, local) and so much more will be coming on to the market. Absolutely wonderful. I'm enjoying the heck out of it, and soon, it'll all be local fruit.
