what has happened to America? Please show these numbers to anyone that does not believe that the United States is in decline. It is time for all of us to humble ourselves and face the reality of what has happened to our once great nation. For those of us that love America, it is heartbreaking to watch the foundations of our society rot and decay in thousands of different ways. The following are 50 facts that show how far America has fallen in this generation, but the truth is that this list could have been far, far longer.

A Day In The Life
With a cloudy, cold 21°F start to Friday, I slept-in until 8:30am and remembered that I had a tech repairman coming from Lancaster to fix/repair the non-working garage door opener, between 10-12. With French-Roast, Turkish-Grind Coffee, and Fresh-Squeezed OJ w/ lots of pulp, fresh-squeezed OJ and Soft-Boiled Eggs w/ Toast in a bowl, I checked the usual news and weather sites, the tech from Central State Door Service (formerly Allison Door Sales of Lancaster, PA) arrived at 11, and had the problem diagnosed and repaired by 11:30. A chain-mounted stop limiter had come loose, allowing the chain to go well past its stop point, come off the main sprocket wheel and fly loose. All better now. Cost was $169. Temp was 42°F, but it felt colder with the wind; duh. Another massive storm system was coming out of the Gulf, and heading-up the Tennessee Valley towards this area. We'd be getting 1-2" of rain later today/tonite/tomorrow, but at least it wouldn't be ice and snow. That'd be north of us, thankfully. Temps were
After a less-than-good night's sleep, I got up at 5:30 on Saturday morning to the continuing sound of rain on the condo's skylights. 41°F. With OJ and coffee, I had Eggs Benedict w/ Ham Steak & Homefries, to start-off. The weather was forecast to be crappy for the next 2 days, so I'd get the Jeep cleaned-up on Tuesday or Wednesday. I needed to get over to Dad's and left at 9am, to do some paperwork, sympathy cards signed and mailed and old gdnctr business property/"clean &green" tax checks written and mailed. I visited with Dad for a while, and left at 11:15. I made it to the bank before it closed at 12, but forgot to stop at the cleaners to get a load of shirts; that's now moved to Monday's to-do-list. Still raining and getting foggy.
Gas and diesel prices at the pump, are holding steady, since Saturday, March 7th: Unleaded Regular (87 oct) is still at $2.55/gal, Unleaded Premium (89oct) is at $2.65/gal, Premium (92 oct) is still $2.85/gal, with Diesel Fuel/Kerosene K-2 also stabilizing at $4.25/gal.

Back home by 1pm, I decided to stay-in for the day, and watch some DVDs I hadn't seen before. My favorite show, "Justified®" (Tim Olyphant) is now in its 6th and final season, which I'm watching on FX-CATV, Tuesday's at 10 & 11pm, and I have DVD seasons 1-4. I've already seen my two favorite seasons 1-2 on FX-TV, back in the day, so I spent today on DVD 3. While I'm doing laundry tomorrow, I can start watching season 4, which I also missed. Becky has season 5's DVD, so I traded her my "Hitman" DVD (Tim Olyphant, same actor) for her season 5 DVD. And on wed-Thu, when my Jeeps in Dave & Stacey's S&D Automotive Shop for the AC/interior work, I'll stay home and watch the missed DVDs. Not seen it? Here; watch a few episodes of season 6. By 12:30am, I'd nodded-off a few times, so it was good to get upstairs to bed.
After a real good night's sleep, until 8:45am Sunday, I was feeling much better. While OJ was being made, I steeped the coffee, checking the weather and news sites, and whipped-up a nice High Protein Breakfast, and just relaxed with the always reliable Conservative "Glen Meakum Show" on Harrisburg WHP580am; here's the station list. It was the dreaded "laundry day", so everything went thru in 2 loads while I grabbed a shower. I call Dad and Becky to see how

I had to meet a new member of the realtor team at the GC&N Complex, to give her an orientation and a set of keys to the front gate and buildings, at 10:30. I also had some errands to do, but the meeting was first on the list. After calling Dad to check-up on his dr's schedule and see if he needed anything, I took the 35min drive south on SR-24 to the Complex, met the nice lady, and the meeting went well for over 2¼-hrs. As usual, the realtor's team wants me to do the walkthru to answer questions from prospective buyers. Can do. Tuesday morning at 6am, was unusual: 59°F and truly balmy outside. (Colder and snow on Friday?) After OJ and coffee, I had the windows open by 9am, and the spring-like breeze was refreshing. I had food shopping to do and some errands to get done, especially since I wouldn't have the Jeep for 1-2 days, since it'd be at S&D Automotive for some work. I left at 9:30. Dad was at a dr's app't, so when I finished, I headed back home after the last stop. By 1pm, temps had hit 65°F, and just walking around outside was nice. I unloaded the Jeep, made 2½-lbs of Steamed & Seasoned Shrimp, ate a pound for lunch, listened to Rush until 3pm, while writing a few more checks out for utilities and CHCA fees. Stacey called from S&D Automotive, to reschedule my service app't. They'd gotten unexpectedly jammed-up, and she'll work me in another day. That takes some pressure off for tomorrow. Up at 6:30am on Wednesday, the day's start was a polar opposite of yesterday. Only 21°F/ 8°F Windchill outside, but would be clear and sunny for the morning; Winter hasn't finished with us yet. After OJ and coffee, and no time for breakfast, the cleaning ladies arrived at 8:30, and I left to help Becky with a project, visit Dad with some homemade jumbo lump crabcakes, and make some other stops. I got back home by 12:30pm, and without breakfast, I was very hungry. Stacey called from S&D Automotive, to reschedule my service app't to Monday at 8am. I'll get a cab ride home, even though they kindly offered me their Chevy Suburban, I don't want to tie it up for 1-2 days. For lunch, I made Meatloaf w/Mashed Potatoes and Corn, had some peach ice cream, and a Ginger Ale. That hit the spot. With all the problems I've been having with my trusty old v12.17 version of the Opera browser, I decided it was time to update to the "latest and greatest" edition, and downloaded the desktop v28.0.6 iteration. I'd saved all my Bookmarks and Speed Dial links, so if anything untoward happened, they'd be preserved. (Opera saves those, too.) The install went flawlessly, Opera opened and I began customizing it. Speed Dial was easy to bring back, and I edited the dead wood out of it, added a background theme and tweaked some settings. Wow, is it ever easy-to-use and slick. Suddenly, all the websites which had played constant "havoc" with my old Opera browser and computer CPUs, weren't a problem anymore; they were tamed. With a completely new rendering engine, the newer Opera versions are smooth and flawless and everything a browser should be. I'm impressed. I spent the rest of the day and evening doing paperwork and filing, and made it an early night at 10pm.
The lawn mower/landscape crews' trucks and equipment woke me at 7:30am on Thursday, as they were going thru the complex, pruning, raking foundation areas and fertilizing everything over 2" tall. Another cold night and morning, I fired-up the furnace, made Scrapple & Scrambled Eggs, coffee and
Tomorrow, Friday, starts a new week here in the "Journal", and with the oncoming snowstorm, we could get 1-2" or 4-6", or even more. The weather 'forecasters' sure don't have a clue. Looks like mostly rain to me right now, at 1:15am and 35°F. WTHK? I have the Jeep's rescheduled service appointment at S&D Automotive on Monday at 8am, a ride home from Becky, and likely 1-2 days without a ride. I have a trip to Red Lion to get a haircut, which I forgot about this past week, and another visit to Southern York County, to pick-up waiting Rxs and visit some friends. It'd be nice to get some shooting in at Freedom Armory, but the last 4 floaters in my right eye are still healing, and the Opthalamologist (Eye Dr) asked me not to do any sudden, prolonged action (like firing a rifle) until these floaters have healed/been absorbed within the eye's vitreous fluid. Crap. I was looking forward to ripping some paper targets. Patience, self.

Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia are going through the worst Ebola outbreak in history and health officials believe that it has killed more than 700 people there. Now, for the first time, Ebola has "officially" entered the United Sates via two health aid workers, that contracted the disease while working in Africa, where the Ebola outbreak continues.
Ebola virus disease (EVD), originally known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a severe, and often times (70-90%) fatal disease in humans. Case fatality can be up to 90 percent – in other words, 90 out of every 100 people who catch Ebola die. EVD outbreaks typically occur in remote villages in Central and West Africa and are transmitted via wild animals (such as fruit bats) to humans.
The first patient landed in the United States on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Dr. Kent Brantly was then flown from Africa to the United States and then transported via ambulance to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The second person, Nancy Whitebol, will return to the U.S. in the coming days. Many people are questioning the decision to bring the two American aid workers to the United States to be treated. According to the New York Times, Dr. Bruce S. Ribner, an infectious disease specialist at Emory and who will be caring for these patients, said, "The reason we are bringing these

Your TSHTF Survival
Are you truly ready for when, not if, TSHTF (The Shit Hits The Fan). And a lot of my "Journal" Readers have emailed and called me to discuss what preparations they should take for that "coming awful event". Believe me, "it" IS coming. "Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs. It's not my intention to be the judge here — that's God's "job" — but rather to "hasten the meeting" so that He can send the following subhuman filth to the "Fires of Hell", "River or Lake of Sulphur", or whatever He deems appropriate.
