barack Hussein Obama, a man with no record of personal accomplishment, no leadership experience, and a man with strong connections to terrorists, criminals, racists, and anti-American Communists pulled it off and was elected, and then re-elected President of these United States. What does this mean and what does it say about the American people? Could it be that karma will finally bestow the consequences of dishonorable behavior on the American people?
Why do I say this? In answer to my question, let me remind you of this statement and where these words took the American people:
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” – John Fitzgerald Kennedy Inaugural address, Friday, January 20, 1961.
With these words ringing in our ears, my generation went to Vietnam and promised the Vietnamese people we would stand shoulder to shoulder with them until their freedom was secure and the enemies of liberty were defeated. By 1973, with the Paris Peace Accords signed by the United States; South Vietnam; and North Vietnam, the Vietnam War was effectively over and the United States and South Vietnam had won the war.
But, it is to America’s eternal shame and disgrace that the American people then sided with Communist North Vietnam and betrayed the South Vietnamese people who had believed and trusted us. In 1974, the American people elected Democrats to our Congress who had rather see our country defeated than allow a Republican President to receive credit for defeating our enemies. This Democrat-led Congress (the infamous 94th) cut off funding and support for South Vietnam and abandoned a valiant ally to their fate. American troops were withdrawn, but we departed with the hollow promise that we would return if the Republic of South Vietnam was ever invaded by Communist North Vietnam. As we all remember, in 1975 Communist North Vietnam invaded the South and the United States did nothing in response.
The tactic we had taught the South Vietnamese was to, when invaded by the North, fall back to a defendable position, stall the communist advance, force the communists to mass their forces before South Vietnam’s defenses, and this would allow time for American forces and air power to return to assist them as we had promised. South Vietnam did just that; for twelve days, outnumbered ten to one, the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) held and stalled the communist’s advance outside Saigon near a little town called Xuan Loc.
Outside Xuan Loc during April 1975, in an effort as gallant as that of the Spartans at Thermopylae, the ARVN 18th Infantry Division held two North Vietnamese Army Corps at bay for twelve days. Every infantryman in the ARVN 18th Infantry Division died in that stand. None ran away and none survived. They died to a man fighting overwhelming odds and believing to the end we Americans would return as promised.
Just before the last ARVN soldier of the 18th Infantry Division died, he might have rolled over on his back and looked to the sky hoping to see the contrails of American B-52 bombers and he saw nothing. This last ARVN soldier then knew that he, along with all the Vietnamese people, had been betrayed. With his dying breath, this soldier must have then turned his gaze heavenly and beseeched God to Damn America.
Yes, there is such a thing as karma where dreadful consequences are meted out in recompense for dishonorable behavior. The American people’s just rewards for abandoning a valiant ally during their time of need could have been that the chickens came home to roost on the American people with an Obama Presidency, a Nancy Pelosi Congress, a Harry Reid Senate, a John Roberts Supreme Court, and it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving people.
The election of 2008 and re-election of 2012 was about more than just Obama, his arrogance, his empty resume, and his traitorous comrades. Just as karma provides consequences for dishonorable behavior, there are also adverse consequences for irresponsible behavior. As a people deserve the government they vote into office, they also deserve the consequences resulting from that government’s actions or inaction. The consequences of a government not securing a country’s borders is that a people will lose their country as we are now losing ours to an invasion of illegal immigrants. The consequences of not securing a country’s electoral processes to prevent voter fraud is the country will lose its Democracy to a Thugocracy as we have lost ours to a Chicago-mob run Coup d’état.
But the final insult to our Republic is with the election of Barack Hussein Obama, an avowed Marxist Communist, a significant chapter in American History finally closed. Our sixty-odd year long Cold War with Communism is over and the Communists won the war.
These words precede those of President Kennedy, so no one can say we didn’t see this coming:
“We cannot expect the Americans to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism.” – Nikita Khrushchev, 1959.

A Day In The Life
As usual on Fridays, the recycle garbage truck's noise woke me around 7am, to a seriously foggy, 47°F day, as the last of the storms moved out of the York area. Within an hour, the fog was burned-off, and as the sun broke thru, temps began rising into the 70s. I made some fresh OJ, coffee and skipped breakfast. I had some errands to run, get the garbage to the curb by 9am, for the 2nd pick-up, and clean-out the garage, which was beginning to look like an Oak leaf repository. All that done, I was back home by 11:45. For lunch, I made a USDA Prime 10oz Filet Mignon and Roasted, Sea-Salted & Buttered Brussel Sprouts, and some Strawberry Ice Cream for dessert. I still had a daunting pile of paperwork to work on, so the back-up computer project would have to wait until next week. I tuned into Rush for a while, then off, as I'm sick of his NFL-domestic violence crappola dialogues. Around 4:15, I took a break and went out for a short walk around the CHCA Complex. I gotta get out more and get more exercise; I'm putting on too much weight with all this food and ice cream stuff. I started my Sunday-Monday food shopping list, and Becky sent her list to me in
I downloaded the morning's missed Chris Plante Show Podcast, for later listening, and at 6pm, the usual evening Mark Levin Show was on until 9, and finally, I did catch some of the John Batchelor Show, until 11:45pm; then closed-down, armed the place, and went up to sleep.
I slept-in until 8am on Saturday, with a 59°F start to the day, it was warmer than the past few, but still chilly enough to warrant a short blast from the furnace. After OJ and coffee, I visited the usual weather and news sites, checked email, and got ready to go out for a while. Traffic was light, even at 9:30am, and I got thru my several stops by 12noon, and back home. I made a simple Scrambled Eggs and Hash Browns for lunch, and went out for a walk down to Springettsbury Twp Park, just ¾-mile south of my complex, where the "Saturday In The Park" Festival was scheduled for tonite. With massive fireworks. Dad called and then drove over to review next month's GC&N Complex
After a restless night, I got up at 6:15am on Sunday. 45°F and sunny to start off. The OJ was sweet, coffee strong and I just didn't have any appetite, yet. Everything attended to satisfactorily, I finally got back home around 4:30pm, tired from all the traffic and driving, and slumped on the couch. I put the linens into the dryer for 40mins, and got a pile of other clothes folded and put them away. I made two killer C&M (MD) Jumbo Lump Crabcakes and Roasted, Sea-Salted & Buttered Brussel Sprouts; Wow, what a treat, and of course I followed it with a pint of Strawberry Ice Cream. Burrrrrp. Until "Gun Talk" came on from 8-11pm, I began organizing a pile of bills I'd received today in the mail. My eyes glazing over, I stayed-in for the afternoon and rested my arm, watched some TV, listened to the evening's streaming Gun Talk Radio Network Show came on at 8pm, while I followed the thread on this site, until 11pm. Temps had quickly dropped into the low-50s. I was so tired from getting up too early this morning, I decided to quit for the night at 11pm, closed down, armed the place and went up to a fresh-made bed and linens. Life is good, and I'll try to sleep late. Just a few niggling errands to attend to.
My plan to sleep-in on Monday didn't go well; I was up at 4:30am with some SHTF dreams, but again couldn't remember any of them. I fired-up the furnace for a few minutes to take the chill off the

I made OJ, coffee and had an English Muffin w/ Apricot Preserves. The weather, news and email all checked, I scanned an ad hoc shopping list for a few things I needed at the Weis Market in East York, and tried to remember what I needed to do for the day. Bzzzzzzz; now I remember. I left at 9:15 and planned to stop at Dad's to check on him. After a 25-min trip thru the supermarket, I drove to Dad's and remembered that he was at his dentist in East York. I dropped-off his groceries, did a few more stops, and got home around 11am. T-storms were moving into the area and a light rain began falling. It would get torrential, later.

I had some pizza slices for lunch, listened to the rest of the morning's missed Chris Plante Show, and read on cNet.com that in their abject stupidity, Microsoft is coming out with OS-10 and is skipping OS-9. That, from the same dumbasses who gave us "Microsoft Bob", back with Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, in the early and mid-90s. An incredible waste of software engineering, money and time. LOL. The Mark Levin Show was on from 6-9pm, the torrential rains arrived at 10:30pm, while I was screening the 6 parts of a new YT film, about the Yellowstone Caldera. I decided to go with the fully-assembled film, just below.
I found this very interesting Discovery Channel fictional docu-drama, called BBC Supervolcano: Yellowstone (1:30:35), about when the world's largest volcano blows-up in Wyoming, and the aftermath. Here's another film, produced by the BBC, called Supervolcano: The Truth About Yellowstone. Both are good viewing and should give us pause to think about surviving such an national/world-impacting event.
By 12:30am, I'd had enough and was fading fast. After closing down all electronics, I armed the condo and trudged upstairs to get some sleep. If Dad's feeling better from having 2 teeth extracted on Tuesday, I'll take him food shopping and help him get some other things ready, for Cousin Carole & Husband John's end of week stay.
A neighbor's newly-acquired Harley motorcycle starting, woke me at 7:30am on Wednesday; sleep was nice while it lasted. Though well after sunrise, it looked like 10pm outside, due to the dense fog. 54°F, but it wasn't a use the furnace morning. I tried a glass of Limeade® and after the "pucker factor" was over, had coffee and Soft-Boiled Eggs w/ Toast in a bowl. I scanned the weather, news and email, looked at the day's to-do list, and saw the 10am realtor meeting in downtown York. I gathered my files, loaded the briefcase and left at 9:45. I
had some less-than-satisfactory (IMO) offers to review and comment on, and after the meeting, left to look for an Italian bakery I remembered from several years ago: Marcello's. It was gone and replaced with a personnel staffing office. Sad; she was a nice old Italian lady and a fine baker of everything. I called Dad and he had the cleaning ladies in, as did Becky, in preparation for Carole & John's visit, tomorrow. He was doing fine, so I opted not to get in the way, made a couple of stops for other things, and got home around 1:15pm. I heated-up some Chicken Parmesan & Pasta, listened to Rush while getting paperwork done, and laying-out upcoming bills to get paid and mailed.
Around 4pm, I went for a short walk around the condo complex, came back in a listened to the morning's missed Chris Plante Show Podcast until 7:30, skipping the Mark Levin Show, and watching 4 YT videos about volcanic eruption, called What Would Happen if a Super Volcanic Eruption Happens Again? (44:52), and Yellowstone Super Volcano High Alert (44:59), and Mount Rainier Volcano is a Ticking Time Bomb (44:43), and PBS NOVA's Iceland's Doomsday Volcanoes (51:43).Yes, I'm fascinated with their power, unpredictability, and destructive force. By 11:45pm, I'd had enough, closed down, armed the system, and gone up to bed. Tomorrow's another day.
The lawnmower crews were two days late this week, due to rainy evening weather and wet morning grass; the machines woke me at 7am, on Thursday. While checking the news and weather sites, I had OJ, made coffee and Creamed Chipped Beef & Gravy Over Toast, w/ Peas. Another Fall-like morning at 53°F, and I decided to go to a local FFL shooting range and take both Kimber .45cal ACPs along. My left elbow was thumping, so I ate some aspirin, and took the bottle along, in case it got worse. I pulled my range bag, extra magazines, headphones, ammo, would buy targets there, and left at 10am. The drive down I-83 South was uneventful, the range uncrowded and I shot for an hour until 12noon, and went out for pizza for lunch with a friend who works there. As I was scanning several new websites for the day's stock market results, with airline stocks falling due to the Ebola scare in the US from Africa, I was reminded of both 9-11-01 and or TWA Flight 800 on July 17, 1996. I was tired and wrapped-things-up early, at 10:45pm, after re-checking the weather and news for tomorrow and the weekend.
Tomorrow starts a new week here in the "Journal" and, other than some lab blood work I need to get done and have been putting-off for a couple months, since I'm a big chicken about needles, I don't have anything concrete on the calendar. I do have a small pile of bills, and both school and property taxes, scheduled payment #2, for my condo and the GC&N to get written out, and mailed by the 10th, as they're due on the 15th. I might get this non-healing left elbow looked at; but then again, probably not, if I can give it some consistent rest for 1-2 weeks, and let the damned tendons heal themselves properly. And since we've got an early – and IMO, a much worse one than last year's – Winter coming, I need to get some things done here and at Dad's to prepare for it.

Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia are going through the worst Ebola outbreak in history and health officials believe that it has killed more than 700 people there. Now, for the first time, Ebola has "officially" entered the United Sates via two health aid workers, that contracted the disease while working in Africa, where the Ebola outbreak continues.
Ebola virus disease (EVD), originally known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a severe, and often times (70-90%) fatal disease in humans. Case fatality can be up to 90 percent – in other words, 90 out of every 100 people who catch Ebola die. EVD outbreaks typically occur in remote villages in Central and West Africa and are transmitted via wild animals (such as fruit bats) to humans.
The first patient landed in the United States on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Dr. Kent Brantly was then flown from Africa to the United States and then transported via ambulance to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The second person, Nancy Whitebol, will return to the U.S. in the coming days. Many people are questioning the decision to bring the two American aid workers to the United States to be treated. According to the New York Times, Dr. Bruce S. Ribner, an infectious disease specialist at Emory and who will be caring for these patients, said, "The reason we are bringing these

Conundrum.
The very definition of the word conundrum is "something that is puzzling or confusing". Here are six conundrums today, in the US:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it. That pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century. Kind of makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it. And last but not least...
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to all illegal aliens?

Obama: "Entrepreneurs Don't Build Businesses"
"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs. It is called the Center of Military History. It is located 30 minutes outside Washington, D.C., at Fort Belvoir in Virginia. The building itself is very nondescript.
But behind a series of highly alarmed doors and long, cement, camera-laden hallways. It is the highly sophisticated, climate-controlled treasure room where the army keeps its most precious artifacts.
The facility was built for $24 million in 2010. The cavernous warehouse is typically shrouded in total darkness. Motion lights illuminate only the areas in which someone is walking.
If I could get tickets, I'd fork over my first-born child. Oh wait; I don't have one. Heh. I'd go there in a heartbeat.
