one can certainly wish and hope that next year'll be better than the past 4 have been, can't one?
But, knowing almost full-well what's coming our way, in so many areas, it doesn't portend well. From nation-destroying, unsustainable spending policies and cavernous deficits, family and business-destroying taxes, socialistic, unConstitutionally-mandated national healthcare insanity, to rampant welfare programs, exploding poverty, 0bamaClaus, incoherent foreign policies, government-sponsored lies, deceit, corruption and blatant criminal actions, 2013 isn't looking any better.
But, if you objectively look back at 2012, you might have missed these 75 obvious signs. Go ahead; I'll wait.
In truth, we've long since gone over the so-called "Fiscal Cliff". Remember the old saying: "It's not the fall which kills you; it's the sudden stop at the end". We just haven't hit bottom, yet. How long that "sudden stop" can be averted, and the SHTF avoided, is the $64,000,000,000,000 question.
I hope I'm wrong. I hope somehow, that someone, somewhere, someplace, will step forward and call a screeching halt to this ongoing madness and national suicide. If I were named King For A Day, I could easily fix everything wrong in the US and the world. But since that's not going to happen anytime soon, it'll be up to our present "leadership" to "fix it". Fat chance of that happening, either. It is what it is.

A Day In The Life
Up at 7:15am on Friday, the hard overnight rains had stopped, and very cold weather had settled-in for a few days. After cranking-up the heat, donning my Turkish Bathrobe, I made French-Roast, Turkish-Grind Coffee (from whole, freshly-ground Dunkin' Donuts® beans) with my Chemex® Drip System, had some Texas Red Grapefruit, and Scrambled Eggs, Sausage & Croissant. I needed to get down to the GC&N Complex to check on the water pipes' heat lamps, do a security round, and make a few stops before the pre-Christmas shopping roads clogged-up with last-minute shoppers, and backed-up for miles. I left at 9am, got it all done, called Dad to check on him, and was back home by 11:45am. I made a healthy Chicken Salad Sandwich on Toast, to "counteract" that (delicious) Five Guys Bacon

At least 95% of this blizzard missed us down here in south central Pa. By 3pm, temps had dropped to 34°F, flurries arrived and I moved the Jeep into the garage for the night, as I always do thru the Winter and Summer months. With 35-45mph winds, the Wind Chill had dropped temps to 16°F and it was bitter cold. To avoid the widespread Christmas shopping traffic, I stayed inside for the day, and called Dad to see how he was doing. I'll go over tomorrow to West York for gas (50¢ off from Weis Markets) at Weis Gas-'n-Go, and visit with him up in North York, for a while. I listened to the morning's missed Chris Plante Show Podcast, and then the Mark Levin Show, from 6-9pm, while doing nothing but relaxing on the LR couch. After listening to several Michael Berry Show Podcasts, I called it a day at 10pm.

Wait; there's still time for the End of The World. Oh drat; missed that one, too.
Knowing that pre-Christmas shopping traffic was going to get bad, early, I got up at 6am, made coffee, OJ, and "Stuffed Hash Browns" for breakfast. Dad's and my specially-ordered Christmas Ham would be ready at 9am, so I left at 8:45 and just got inside the door, when 25-30 people poured into the building behind me. I got a reserved 10-lb half ham, bone-in, with a $7 off coupon, wished the ladies a Merry Christmas, and left. The winds were up to 45-60mph now from the blizzard moving north and east of us, as we caught the southern-most fringes, and with temps only around 36°F, that meant Wind Chill was -3°F. My Jeep was actually getting slightly blown around the road. And it was snowing lightly. Horizontally. Heh. I drove home, stowed the ham in the 'fridge, and worked on my Sunday morning shopping list. Some friends stopped-by at 12:15pm on their way to the York Gun Show, to look at the Glock G32/.357SIG and "numerous accessories" which I have for sale, and left around 1:45. I hope they found something at the show, but I was afraid it'd be all picked-over/gone by the time they arrived. I called Dad to talk for a while, and decided to talk a walk in brisk

My "internal alarm" went-off on Sunday morning at 5:30, so I grabbed my Turkish Bathrobe, cranked-up the heat and, at 27°F outside, debated a hot vs cold breakfast. I went ahead with Fresh-Squeezed OJ, coffee and Sunny-side-Up Eggs, Sausage, Fried Potatoes & Toast. I finally left around 7:45am for Weis Market in East York, got a short list of things I needed, and on the way home to unload, watched the traffic build, at the malls. I drove to Dad's at 9:30, visited with him and we called Becky in SF. Back home

Christmas Eve Day Morning – Monday – I slept-in until 7:30, with temps at 19°F and rain/sleet/snow in the forecast. A ***WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY*** was issued for the Mid-Atlantic and a ***BLIZZARD WARNING*** for the Northeast States. Swell. I really wanted to go to Rev (Cousin) Tom's Church for Christmas Eve Services tonite, as I did last year, but will now stay home due to "unknown freezing conditions" on some of those isolated, Southern York County back roads. Drat. I made coffee, OJ and Eggs, Bacon & Roasted Potatoes. Monday's change the bed, do laundry, clean bathrooms etc chores day, regardless that it's Christmas Eve Day. Things need to get done.
By 11:30am, I was hungry and made Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, set the DR table for Dad's Christmas Ham Dinner, and continued with
I did manage to sleep-in until 8am, on Christmas Morning, went down to a cold, cloudy day, made coffee, OJ and a small Cream of Wheat breakfast, saving my appetite for the spiral-cut, Honey-Baked Ham, Chef's Salad, Sweet Potatoes & Key Lime Pie Dinner, later with Dad. Temps rose to 34°F, the snow melted on hard surfaces, Dad arrived at 12:15pm, we called Becky in SF to wish her a Merry Christmas, and we feasted until 3. I carved-up most of the rest of the Honey-Baked Ham®, and sent it home with him, keeping the bone and about 1¾-lbs (of the 10-lbs) for Ham & Bean Soup, later. I had cleaned-up and dishes done by 5pm, and another ***WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY*** had just been issued for the York area, for tomorrow morning and afternoon. This one could be ugly. I closed-down at 9pm; enough for the day.
Why I woke-up at 3am on Wednesday, I'll never know. Perhaps intuition of the coming storm. Nah. I was still dead-tired, but got-up, anyway. 26°F outside.
I laid down on the LR couch at 9am for a short nap, and woke-up at 12noon, with a mini-blizzard raging outside. 2-3" so far and coming down hard. My trusty, but ancient Kodak Easy-Share DX3900 Digital Camera just can't capture the storm's snowfall intensity. Groggy, I splashed some cold water in my face, made some rotated-out-of-stock, ready-to-eat, vegetable beef soup (1998 vintage; delicious), and thought better of going back outside. Heavy snow, 50-60mph winds. While listening to Talk Radio – this is the shittiest week of the year, with all of the 3rd & 4th rate substitute "hosts" – I heard on the local news that there were over 250 accidents in the York-Harrisburg
I got-up at 5am on Thursday, feeling rested and pretty good, all-in-all. Bundled in my bathrobe, 29°F outside, heat turned-up to 77°F inside, I made OJ and coffee, scanned the weather and news sites, and debated breakfast; I just wasn't hungry, yet. It was snowing lightly, and everything was still covered with ice and glistening. I salted (calcium chloride) my front walk and drive, and the ice glaze melted right away. A light snow was still falling but the storm was rapidly-moving up to New England and was forecast to drop 8-10" there. A cold day today, on-tap here, clear, warmer and sunny Friday, and more snow (2-6") on Saturday. Winter's here. I needed to drive 20-miles south to Stewartstown to p/u 1 Rx at Rite Aid, then 5-miles back north to the GC&N Complex to so some maintenance, the back north to PNC Bank, the drycleaners and another Rite Aid in East York to p/u 2 Rxs, and then to Dad's to visit. I was hearing about all kinds of morning accidents, in various states of clean-up, on roads in Southern York County, but I could probably avoid most of them. Joanne & Rhonda arrived at 8:30, just as I was leaving.
The roads were clear, and I got to the bank, made a deposit, down to the GC&N and checked the water pipes/heat lamps, and picked-up the Rx from Rite Aid in Stewartstown, by 10am. On the trip back north, I hit the drycleaners, Rite Aid in East York and Weis Market, got home after Joanne/Rhonda had left. It was bitter cold at 31°F with a 45mph wind, dropping the Wind Chill into the 8-9°F range. After unpacking, I had a salad and several Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Broccoli-Cheese, which I'd baked last night. I called Dad to talk for a while, listened to a couple hours of the Bob Durgin Talk Radio Show (WHP-580AM Harrisburg), from 3-6pm and worked on the revised 2013 1st Qtr Condo Budget. The Mark Levin Show, from 6-9pm, had a sub-host on, and he was pretty good. I called it quits at 9:30. Tomorrow starts a new week here in the "Journal", and except for a snowy Saturday, it potends to be a very, very cold week. Winter's here!

Just Google "survival" and see what comes-up. Damned-near everything you ever wanted to know how to prepare for this for-sure-coming "hellish holocaust", some of it in easy-to-download *.PDF format. Tens-of-thousands of websites are devoted to the topic of "survival". Do the same with "You Tube", and watch the thousands of videos. This is *NOT The Phony Y2K Crappola*; this is for real. I said numerous times that Y2K was a waste of time and money to prepare for, and that came true. I'm reading that "survival stores" are reporting a huge upswing in sales and preparations, and for good reason.
