with the incidents of the past two months, ranging from San Bernardino to Merced to Rochester, we now know that we are essentially unprotected from terrorist attacks.

What San Bernardino amounted to is that government fumbled the ball and then refused to pick it up. Every single error made on the federal level concerning terror since the first inauguration of Barack Obama came to a head, from encouraging Muslim immigration to enabling terrorists to enter the country to crippling security investigations in the name of PC.
The federal government has unilaterally broken a basic element of the social contract – that the citizen will give up private use of violence and support the government in exchange for protection.
That protection is no longer forthcoming. Both the military and police have given up any pretense of attempting to control Islamic terrorism. Homeland Defense was founded to create a new basis for a public employee’s union. It fulfills that role admirably. It does nothing else. (Consider the Lutchman case in Rochester, N.Y. in which Emanuel Lutchman, a near-lunatic, was infatuated by ISIS websites but transparently unable to act upon them without help. He obtained this from government agents, who not only encouraged him, but in fact purchased the items he was going to use in the attack. That he was groomed as a trophy bust is difficult to deny.)
The government’s sole visible response to the San Bernardino attack that killed 14 out of 31 shot was to turn against the American people. Government spokesmen began squealing about “backlash”, as they’ve been doing since 9/11. Attorney General Loretta Lynch openly threatened American citizens who might target “innocent” Muslims, something that has not occurred in any meaningful fashion in the past fifteen years. President Obama’s speech following the incident reiterated something he called his “strategy,” which amounts to continuing a desultory and inept bombing campaign intended for display purposes while claiming that it will defend people in the continental U.S. Shortly afterward he repeated his intention to close the Gitmo prison camp without adequately providing for the terrorists held there. In other words, Obama refuses to defend Americans while at the same time adding more killers to the brew.
Obama comes from a culture so at variance to that of the US., that there’s no way to unravel what he’s thinking; he may, in fact, not grasp that there is anything wrong with what he’s doing. His followers do not have that excuse.
Liberals always create the very society they claim to be 'fighting' against.The left’s attitude toward the Jihadis is simple: the last century of American leftism can be defined as a vanguard in search of a proletariat.
The left very early on realized that there was no such thing as a proletariat in the United States. That fact was stated clearly by German Marxist Werner Sombart in his 1906 volume Why is There No Socialism in the United States? His answer: because there was no proletariat – no brutalized, oppressed working class begging for revolutionary succor. Workers in the U.S. already had what the left was promising them, which completely undercut revolutionary prospects. The marvel is that this result was totally unintentional – nobody, much less the corporate chiefs or the robber barons, ever planned it that way. It was simply democratic capitalism in action.
The 20th century demonstrated Sombart’s theory in detail. The American working class gained so much in material goods, income, and education that it effectively merged with the middle class. America became a middle-class country, with a minuscule wealthy class and a congenitally poor class only slightly larger. The rest – 90% or more – wound up as bourgeois.
The left spent its time trying to discover or conjure a proletariat, some outcast group for whom they could act as a revolutionary vanguard, to lead against the hated bourgeois and create the socialist paradise. For a time, blacks filled that role. But they too began the upward migration, leaving only a minority of a minority stuck in the slums. So the left in recent years turned to immigrants, with mixed success. But there is one group that is automatically alienated from American society, automatically hostile, vividly motivated to tear it down, and with little chance ever being reformed. It doesn’t matter that Islam is anti-communist on a level that Westerners would find impossible to grasp. (Marxists are an example of the “godless folk” against whom Mohammed railed even more fiercely than Jews and Christians.) It doesn’t matter that they are religious fanatics. They hate America and all it stands for. That, and that alone, is what matters.
Leftists, here are your proles.
That explains Obama and Lynch. It explains the hashtag #IamaMuslim. It explains Michael Moore holding a sign saying the same thing for the few minutes he can remain on his feet before being carried back to his penthouse. It explains why Edward Norton’s foundation is funding Muslim immigration. It explains why the borders have not been closed, why Jihadi mosques are still in operation, why Moslem Brotherhood operatives remain active within the government itself. The Muslims are the New Proletariat, the left’s ideological pets. The PC template has been shifted from blacks and placed right over the Muslim Jihadis, because they are Muslim Jihadis. That’s the end of it. From this point on, no meaningful action of any sort can be expected from a Democratic-controlled government or a leftist bureaucracy, even as regards Homeland Defense or the DoD. (As for the GOP, there’s no point in even bringing that up. The last budget fully funded Obama’s refugee program, which will introduce a measurable percentage of Jihadis into the U.S. But Paul Ryan, he’s got that big ol’ security fence around his house. He ain’t scared of nothin’.)
What does this leave us with? It leaves with a culture founded on the principle of DIY as goes self-protection. It leaves us with a populace better-armed than any other in history. It leaves us with a country that, until recent years, was used to maintaining order within the community, with little or no help from state or federal governments.
We can take this as whimpering products of postmodernism, curled into fetal balls as we descend in freefall, so many Woody Allens whining for somebody to do something as we await the final bullet. Or we can act as Americans always acted when government has let them down. We can refuse to be victims.
How do we respond to the Muslim threat? With knowledge and action.

A Day In The Life
I was awake and up at 6:15 on Friday morning, cloudy and 24°F, as the cleaning ladies would be here by 8:30, and I had things to get done, stop by Dad's for a visit, and make some copies of my CCW Permit Renewal Re-Application. OJ, coffee, scanned the weather and news, chuckled at last night's debate's "critiques", on both the RINO-GOPe right and the crazed, batshit lefty wackjobs. Hilarious. I left at 9, for Weis Market and Dad's. It took 30mins to get thru the Market, getting more groceries than I should, on an empty stomach. I copied my CCW Permit paperwork, visited with Dad for an hour, and planned out a project he needed done, for next week.
Back home by 11:30, and as I was unpacking, the panicked news reports were everywhere: DJIA down 537pts! (12:45pm); more "good news" to end the week. It finally closed at -391pts for the day. Swell. After a Turkey Club w/ Fries for lunch, I had condo chores to get started: inventory both sides of the basement "stores", checking product dates, making a list of replacements, and additional needs. I spent 4hrs on that, came up for the morning's leftover coffee and a break, and finished one side; the other can wait a few days. After the evening news, the Nor'easter's heavy rains arrived, I watched some new episodes of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives until 11:30, started nodding-off and bagged it for the night.
I slept-in until 8 on Saturday morning, and when I rolled out of bed, the back/hip/leg pain hit, like a ton of bricks. As I stood-up, my left knee buckled, and I slumped against the wall, slamming my left wrist into the nightstand. Bad bone bruise and the LH was worthless, to even flex or grip anything. I got to the bathroom, ate a handful of aspirin for the pain, and slowly went downstairs. No OJ, managed to brew-up coffee, get the computer running... with just my right hand. I also worked-open a jar of Dole® Mandarin Oranges, but scratched plans for any serious cooking and breakfast. I got both cold-paks from the freezer; one for my back and the other for the top of my left hand. Crap. It would be a lousy day ahead if this were the extent of my ability to do anything, except sit and watch TV. I laid down on the LR couch, wrapped-up the beautiful afghan, and went back to a light sleep until 1pm.
After catching-up on the news and coming cold, snowy weather, which I missed in the morning's usual computer scan, I skipped lunch and kept rotating cold-paks on my hand and back, while watching the whole season of History's Hunting Hitler: Season 1, Episodes 1-9, since I'd missed several episodes. Likewise, with catching-up on 2 missed episodes of American Restoration. By 11, I was ready for some shut-eye, and closed down.
Sunday was another sleep-in-until-8 day, 31°F and it even "smelled like snow". My left hand had no strength to hold anything, so I tried some very warm water on it instead of cold, and it worked. The pain dissipated, redness increased with additional blood drawn to the injury site, but my hand and wrist were usable. The back pain was still there, but that was manageable with aspirin. OJ and coffee made, I checked the weather and news sites, email was down, had an English Muffin w/ Marmalade, checked for any NFL playoff games, started some loads of laundry, and laid back down on the LR couch, wrapped in the afghan, and fell asleep, until 12:30pm.
Back up, drinking the last of the morning's coffee, eating another handful of aspirin and running hot water over my left wrist, I felt better. There were a set of proposals & a contract for Dad's massive Pocono Stone and plant gardens, trees and 3ac lawn area, for 2016, which I needed to review and compare to his old company's invoices/performance over 2012-2015.
By 4:30, I still had no email and it was snowing lightly. I made cost/service comparison sheets so he and I could review it all on Monday; hey, that's MLK Day, isn't it? I won't go into what he really was; that's not nice on a Sunday. But here's what I found about ol' Marty, back in 2006; scroll down to that crazy-right-winger guy's Assholes, Scumbags & Lowlifes™ section. Heh.
I watched the Panthers beat the Seahawks, and Denver beat the Steelers, although I'm not a pro-sports, or NFL (National Felon League) fan, there were some seriously amazing plays in those games. No, I didn't watch the 3 Socialist Stooges 'debate'. By 12:30am, I'd had enough of searching for anything intelligent on CATV, quit and went to bed.
Monday morning at 7am was bitter cold at just 12°F, but at least there wasn't any snow. After grabbing my Turkish Bathrobe, firing-up the furnace, I noticed that my left hand's pain and swelling had mostly subsided, but I still had a small problem holding heavy objects and almost dropped the stainless water kettle when making coffee. At least the back pain was gone. I checked the weather and news, and was surprised by the forecast that we'd get a major blizzard by the coming weekend. Last year's "blizzard" was a New England thing, not the East Coast's; we only got a couple inches out of it.
We're way overdue for a 'big one', though, remembering our last appreciable blizzard was in 2011. Heh. OJ, coffee and Eggs Benedict & HomeFries Potatoes; lots of coffee.
I streamed the Chris Plante Show, 9-12 ET on WMAL/DC, for a while and called Dad at 9:45 to make sure he was up, grabbed my briefcase with the proposals and contracts for turf & landscape work, and drove to his home. We spent some time reviewing and comparing them, visiting and I needed to call Ben at W&S Landscape Services, with some questions tomorrow, since today is MLK-0sambo Day, and everything's closed. I left for home and later, I emailed my broker and told him to buy 5,000 shares each of SPX (Phillips 66), CVX (Tesoro), and XOM (Valero), in my Energy Sector Portfolio as soon as the market opens on Tuesday. 2016's going to be huge for them, as oil/nat gas prices rocket back up to very profitable price/earning ratios.
Always remember that, paper is not dead.With a high of only 20°F, I decided not to go out for a walk. I made a quick Chicken Salad Sandwich on Croissant w/ Chips, settled-in to watch History Channel's marathon of "American Pickers" and later, the Fox Business Channel's Strange Inheritance show, about some amazing stories. I quit for the night at 12:45am, closed down, armed the place, and went to sleep.
Up at 8:15 on Tuesday to another clear, sunny and bitter 11°F morning, I did the "Winter routine", scanned the weather and news sites, savored the fresh Turkish-grind, French-roast, whole bean coffee and streamed the Chris Plante Show, 9-12 ET on WMAL/DC. When I heard this story about Trump supporting ethanol, and found the article, I was seriously disappointed. Trump's a liberal GOPer. Anyway, I'd vote for him over any of the demokkkRATs. I had some condo chores to do, and the basement stores inventory only half done, and needed to complete that, so I got started.
Taking a short break for a late lunch and to rest my aching back, I had an Egg & Olive Salad Sandwich and chips, and finally finished-up around 4pm. High for the day was only 26°F. I got a few of the chores done, and quit around 6pm. After the evening news and weather about the coming major snowstorm/blizzard, I switched over to watch some new episodes of Curse of Oak Island, and then over to the Weather Channel to check on the coming Winter Storm/Blizzard "Jonas's" progress and long-range forecast. (Heh; they're naming Winter storms now.) By 11, I was tired enough to call it a day, and closed down.
Awake at 8am on Wednesday, at 22°F, while having coffee, all I heard on the news was about the coming massive snowstorm or blizzard. Even shit-for-brains pmsNBC was touting the weather. Stupidly named "Jonas" – hell, why don't they call it "Lakeesha" or "Tyrone" or "DeShawn" or "Lafondra" – there was already a running on WMAL radio, for the MD-DC-Virginia areas, when I started streaming the Chris Plante Show, 9-12 ET. Amazing. I'll bet the grocery and convenience stores are being sacked and looted of all bread, milk, eggs and TP, by 10am, tomorrow. Yawn. One year from today at 1:20pm, we are finally done with TheBarry0bummerRegimeFromHell, and hopefully the damage done can be remedied and fixed.
By 12noon, the DJIA was at -440pts, with Asia and Europe still melting down. I made a Bacon Cheddar-Cheeseburger w/ Fries, and started some overdue paperwork piling-up on my desk/DR table. By 1:30, the DJIA was -570pts. And by 4pm, the DJIA closed -249.28; another not good day. I emptied, cleaned and refilled my counter-top DeLonghi Stainless Steel Deep Fryer, something I do every 1-2mos, or when seafood is fried.
I caught the 6pm evening news and weather, and the forecast map, as of today, isn't looking any better for the upcoming storm. We are going to get hammered; it's just a matter of how bad. A ***BLIZZARD WATCH*** was posted for MD-DC-VA, while we only rated a ***WINTER STORM WATCH***, so far. That will change quickly. By 7pm, History Channel's new episodes of "American Pickers" were on and I watched until 12:30am. Lights out.
Up at 6:30 on Thursday morning, I noticed that we'd gotten ~1" of light snow overnight, and although it's no big deal around here, when I streamed the news, I heard that DC had been paralyzed late yesterday, last night and into this morning's hours, from its dusting. 1 frigging inch. Sweet; the irony is delicious. The York area had a few fender benders, but it was minor. I made OJ and coffee, scanned the weather and news sites and watched the storm gathering itself in the midwest and south. It was 21°F, sunny and the front yard squirrels were scampering all over the place, digging-up previously-buried nuts. Meanwhile, lib-dem-run DC, Maryland and Virginia were declaring a full-blown ***STATE OF EMERGENCY*** and bringing in 1,000 fat, alcoholic, lesbian snow shovelers, 250,000 muzzie-rapist refugees and 6 federal bureaucrats to deal with the coming blizzard. KIDDING!
The day started out sunny, but cold, and clouds moved-in quickly as the two fronts pushed everything ahead of them as the Nor'Easter moved-up the East Coast, and the bitter cold and snow/ice moved east, right at the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic Region.
Scanning the news, I found it ironic that all these Hollyweird Niggas are so butthurt about an all-White Oscar night – since they have BET, Ebony, black this, black that, black crap, black trash, black junk, black whiners – that they're boycotting the event. F•ck the feral, tribal sambos. Figures. Truth be told: you aren't any good, niggas, exept in your own drug-destroyed heads. Go play some B-ball at mignight, back in the alley.
I spent the rest of the day finishing-up the basement stores' inventory, changing the furnace filter, and making sure Dad was prepared for the upcoming storm. By 6, the evening news was obsessive-compulsive with the snowstorm crap – I was seriously hoping it would veer east and move out to sea, but it wouldn't – so I switched over to History's American Restoration series' past seasons on YT, and watched until 11:45pm. Time for some sleep.
Friday starts a new week here in the "Journal", and it looks like we'll be digging out from a major snowstorm for at least a few days. Hopefully there won't be any major damage or loss of life from it, but it sadly seems that there always is some in the aftermath of such large-scale weather events. We won't know until it's all over.
Conundrum.
The very definition of the word conundrum is "something that is puzzling or confusing". Here are six conundrums today, in the US:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it. That pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century. Kind of makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it. And last but not least...
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to all illegal aliens?
Am I the only one missing something?

First, Israel is preparing for war, after being attacked for years on many fronts, and not fighting back as she should have. This war will truly have "Biblical implications" around the world. The Middle East is rapidly-collapsing under the subhuman, murderous muslim/islamic riots (muslim Brotherhood) and rule ("arab Spring"), with world crude oil prices projected to hit $200+/bbl, or even higher into the $300-$400 range,

Tens-of-thousands of websites are devoted to the topic of "survival". Do the same with "You Tube", and watch the thousands of videos. This is *NOT The Phony Y2K Crappola*; this is for real. I said numerous times that Y2K was a waste of time and money to prepare for, and that came true. I'm reading that "survival stores" are reporting a huge upswing in sales and preparations, and for good reason.
I'm also one of the very, very few who "predicted a 9-11 type event", 2 years and 8 months before it happened. Read down that "Journal" entry to the "Scary Stuff" section, and it was done by the subhuman, murderous muslim/islamic shit/filth/trash, NOT the US Gov't as some morons and idiots (Alex Jones & Co), have and still It's interesting you mention when an old paradigm dies and a new one takes its place. There are people who are still connected to the old one and can't conceive of life without that old paradigm. I think you saw that in the Great Depression. A lot of people never recovered from it because once that hit it was the end of their lives. claim. Need I say more about those certifiable and murderous, subhuman muslim/islamist wackos who are determined to kill all of us Proud Infidels?
Am I an "conspiracy alarmist" or one of those "crazed survivalists", sequestered in a Montana, Idaho, Utah or Wyoming compound or bunker? Not hardly; I'm simply in mid-State Pennsylvania, an Eagle Scout, Class of 1963, Order Of The Arrow/ Vigil Honor, and our BSA Motto was then, and still is now, "Be Prepared". Need I say any more?
Forget all of the "buy gold and silver" bullshit commercials; buy "brass and lead" for your guns. They're a far, far superior investment, IMO. Ammo is truly a "fungible" item; gold & silver aren't at all. They may be "intrinsic", but they're utterly-useless in a collapsing/collapsed society or world. Do the requisite research, as I've done. "Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs.
