depressing times

friday, january 29th, 2010

in their zeal to the destroy/ collapse America, aka Cloward & Piven, the elected internal progressive enemies of America have driven us into an inflationary cycle, the likes of which we haven't seen since the Dark Days of Carter, in the 70s. This is a full-blown depression, not just a recession.

As a small business owner/ operator, I only see it getting worse in 2010. Federal and state taxes are going to go through the proverbial roof. The Nation can't sustain this degree and volume of spending by the liberal-demokkkRATs, or we will economically and socially collapse.

I pity anyone trying to start-up a business right now. And I also pity those businesses who owe moderate to large sums of money to outside vendors/ sources. Neither have even a 50-50 chance of making it through the 3rd quarter.

White House "advisers" appearing on the Sunday talk shows gave three different estimates of how many jobs could be credited to President Obama's Recovery Act. The progressive-liberal-demokkkRAT lying sons-and-daughters-of-bitches — Valerie "The Whore" Jarrett had the most conservative count, saying "the Recovery Act saved thousands and thousands of jobs"; while David "The Liar" Axelrod gave the bill the most credit, saying it has "created more than or saved more than 2 million jobs"; and Press Secretary Robert "The Idiot" Gibbs came in between them, saying the plan had "saved or created 1.5 million jobs" — lied their way through a fawning Gov't-controlled MSM, who'd never checked or verified the numbers spewn-out by those 3 liars.

What do you believe, America? Anything? Personally, I believe NONE OF IT! It's all a lie, designed to cover the incompetent, half-breed's ass.

Left-wing, Nazi (socialist) Hitler's Hermann Goebbels once said: "If you repeat the big lie often enough, it becomes the truth." 16% of Americans approve of Barry-Soetero-Obamba-Lama-Ring-Ding-Dong; 61% disapprove, and a few 27% brain-dead morons "aren't sure". How could they not be sure, based upon this presidential assholes incompetent marxist/commie/mis-handling of America's economy, and his daily lies Clintoon was impeached for less.

America-hating progressives and anti-Constitutional liberal filth, are the enemies of The American Republic. They need to be identified, rounded-up, duly-tried and executed, IMO. No incarceration; execution = zero recidivism, IMO.

Government is the problem; the states created the federal government. As government expands, individual liberty contracts. The paradigm is changing in America.

Around The Garden Center™.

I took Friday off and slept-in until 1pm, thinking that we were going to get nailed by another Winter Storm of sleet/ice/snow, according to the ***Winter Storm Warnings***, posted Thursday. Nothing but a little rain. It stayed mainly to the south of us. After reviewing our monthly LPG Gas bills ($1,025) and monthly electric bills's ($575-$800), I thinking about closing another 2-3-4 days per week, just to save money. Since we have few walk-in customers during the Winter months, it makes perfect sense to cut unnecessary expenses.

Saturday was another "nothing important day", yet Jan came in and worked on the corporate mailing list, merging my 2,100+ landscape files with the existing 6,500 mailing list. Mom had a bad fall on Friday, unbeknownst to me, and Dad left early to be with her. I went food shopping on Sunday, and stopped by to visit with her. Yes, I think I have SAD (seasonal affective disorder), this year. January 24th is midway through Winter, and is the worst day of the year, IMO.

I'm about ready to head-out for another "virtual cabin getaway", real soon. We got a ***FLOOD WATCH/WIND ADVISORY*** Sunday evening, lasting through Monday evening. 50-60mph winds, blackouts every 15-20mins, horizontal rain; well, it could be snow and then we'd have a helluva mess on our hands. I'll take the rain. 15,000 York County customers without power, limbs and trees down, wires down and 13+ transformers on fire, due to high winds. 59°F and it feels like Spring, but we're only halfway (Jan 24th) through Winter, officially.

Snow squalls moved through the area on Tuesday morning, temps dropped into the mid-30s; a far cry from Monday's near-60°F, Spring-like temps. I closed at 1pm, to go visit Mom in York Hospital; she's had 6-7 TIAs and the docs are running batteries of tests, catheterization and taking pics of the carotid artery blockages, and preparing to do carotid artery bypasses on Thursday morning. Becky's flying-in on Saturday, for two weeks, to help take care of Mom, and deal with the plethora of vascular surgeons at York Hospital.

Dad called with good news: Mom went into surgery at 8am and came out into recovery, around 10:30am. "All went well", quoth the docs. She's in lots of pain, but that too will pass. I just pray there isn't any *leakage" and that they don't have to go back in to make repairs. Becky flies-in from SF on Saturday, to take care of her for 2 weeks. Lee & I'll pick her up at HIA Saturday evening. I left the Complex at 2:30pm, with all my appointments and meetings rescheduled until next week. Too much on my mind, right now.

Liquid Sculpture

Martin Waugh loves drops and splashes, and he has dedicated his site to displaying their elegance through the wonders of high-speed photography. With a small amount of specialized equipment, in just a few thousandths of a second, Martin captures still images of magnificent drips, splatters, and liquids. The galleries here showcase the variety of his "liquid sculptures," whether they be plain water, milk and cream, or something a little more risque?. If you look closely, you might even spot the photographer himself, and you'll probably wonder how on earth did the world get in there? Some say that to find beauty, you've got to look in all the right places, but why not just start with your morning coffee?
