Mercifully, the oppressive 90-95°F heat and wilting humidity abated last Friday, as thunderstorms and strong winds blew through the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions, and temps returned to near normal, in the 70°Fs. My landscape crews and GC&N staff were suffering, as were the plants' new growth, which had wilted badly. We have plenty of overhead paddle and floor fans in the GC&N Complex, and the breeze on that hill is most welcome. Plus, I have AC in my office, so everyone is welcomed there to escape the heat. Hopefully, we're back to "normal", for this time of year. Summer arrived on Tuesday, replete with mid-80s temps and plenty of humidity.

You can't swing a dead raccoon by the tail without hitting a home featuring junk on blankets, spread all over the lawn.
