Everyone went home early last Friday, as the Fall rains deluged (0.9") us all day and night, with wet snow falling in the late evening. I told my three Garden Center Staffers that this Friday would likely be their last day, until early March. The two remaining, three-man Landscape Crews will work until Thanksgiving, weather permitting, as we still have several medium and small jobs awaiting our attention.
We're now on Winter Hours — Mon-Sat, 10am-3pm, Closed Sunday — and I'm enjoying the shortened Saturday hours and Sundays off. I still have to be in at work by 6am Mon-Fri, as the Landscape Crews still have jobs to finish, before we lose the weather for this season. Mom & Dad went down to the Garden Center Complex on Sunday to feed Pickle, and check the greenhouses, so I slept-in until 11:30. I made a leisurely breakfast of Eggs Benedict and (Turkish-ground) coffee, did some food and clothes shopping, and stopped by The Texas Roadhouse in the late afternoon to meet up with some friends, watch a football game, sip some Rolling Rock® Longnecks® and have a 16oz filet mignon dinner. Life is good.
